iPhone 14 high-end panel, LG to break the Samsung exclusive supply situation

The market is concerned about Apple's (Apple) new iPhone 14 series trends next year, south Korean technology media website The Elec reported on the 23rd that in addition to the Samsung display (Samsung Display), LG Display will also supply the LTPO- TFT-OLED display screen required for the iPhone 14, which will break the Samsung monopoly situation.

The Elec pointed out that Samsung Display exclusively supplies Apple's advanced version of the iPhone 13 Pro series based on low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) technology-based thin-film transistor (TFT) organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display screen, and it is expected that next year, LG Display will start to supply a small part of ltpo-TFT-OLED panels, entering the 6.68-inch high-end version of the iPhone 14 Pro Max model. As for the Samsung monitor, it is still the exclusive panel supplier for the 6.06-inch iPhone 14 Pro model next year.

The report pointed out that BOE actively and independently developed LTPO-TFT-OLED panel technology, but it has not yet entered the commercial stage, but BOE can provide low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS)-TFT-OLED panels, which have cut into standard versions such as iPhone 12 and iPhone 13.

The market is concerned about the design progress of Apple's iPhone 14 series in the second half of next year, and Guo Mingxi, an analyst at Tianfeng International Securities, issued a report on the 20th, expecting that the new iPhone will use a 48 million pixel lens in the second half of next year, and the 2023 iPhone will use a periscope lens.

Japanese industry insiders recently reported that Apple will launch two 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch low-end versions and two 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch high-end versions of the iPhone 14 Pro models in the second half of next year, of which the high-end version of the iPhone 14 Pro series application processor will be upgraded to A16 level, using TSMC's 4-nanometer advanced process, and the low-end version of the iPhone 14 still uses the A15 application processor of the iPhone 13.
