In August this year, GM released the Ultium Aotene electric vehicle platform, and by 2025 SAIC-GM Cadillac, Buick, and Chevrolet will launch 9 electric vehicles, and electric vehicles will become an important source of sales increases in the future. The online car market learned from SAIC-GM officials that Buick will upgrade the current Wuhan vehicle production base, and after the upgrade, it will stop production of K216 fuel models with a current production capacity of 160,000 units/year, and turn to production of two pure electric vehicles codenamed B223 and B233, with production capacities of 85,000 units/year and 75,000 units/year, respectively, and will be officially put into production in 2023.
Among them, the pure electric model codenamed B233 is similar to cadillac LYRIQ (codename L233), which is most likely to be a rebranded model of LYRIQ, which is larger in size than the WEILAI ES6, but it will save more power and will be unveiled as soon as 2022.

In terms of power, the new car will provide two types of drive forms, front-drive and rear-drive, the front-drive model is equipped with an electric motor with a maximum power of 180kW, and the four-wheel drive model adds an electric motor with a maximum power of 255kW on this basis, and the comprehensive power consumption is 13-14kW·h/100km, which is more energy-saving than the NIO ES6 (20kW·h/100km).
Unlike Volkswagen, Toyota and others who overemphasize the concept of model platforms, GM creatively proposed the concept of "Ultium" power batteries, which use the most advanced nickel-cobalt-spesartin tetra-yuan lithium batteries (most brands are currently using ternary lithium batteries). In addition, the battery module with highly modular design can be compatible with cells of different shapes, sizes and capacities, support horizontal or vertical arrangement of batteries, and can reach up to 640km in terms of endurance.
