The annual International Consumer Electronics Exhibition (CES) is a major event for major electronic technology manufacturers around the world, who will release their cutting-edge products and future plans at CES. However, with the re-outbreak of a new round of the new crown epidemic, many manufacturers have played a "retreat".

Recently, GM, Google and its self-driving car technology subsidiary Waymo announced that they will not participate in the CES that will be held next month due to the rising rate of COVID-19 infection. Although they will not participate in offline exhibitions, they still hope to be able to participate in the exhibition through online means.
GM issued a statement saying it decided to participate in full digital terms at CES in January. GM will continue to deliver keynote speeches on Jan. 5, showcasing Chevrolet's Silverado electric pickup truck and sharing the company's breaking news. A Google spokesperson also said that Google will continue to participate in the event in a virtual way. Waymo said it would also like to participate in the event in Las Vegas in a virtual way, if possible.
CES officials said the event will still be held on January 5-8, and the organizers will adopt strong safety measures", including requiring all exhibitors to be vaccinated, all on-site personnel must wear masks, and all people need to be tested for COVID-19.
