In recent years, under the active coordination and organization of Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, SAIC Motor, SIPG Group, China Mobile Shanghai Company and other project implementation units have worked closely together, after more than two years of technical iteration, pilot operation, tracking evaluation and exploration summary, intelligent heavy trucks basically have the "Yangshan Port Terminal - Donghai Bridge - Deepwater Port Logistics Park" route of automatic driving and cargo transportation capacity, has now accumulated about 61,000 TEUs of transshipment containers.

The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Transportation Commission said that as a system project, the Yangshan Port intelligent heavy-duty truck demonstration operation project needs to be promoted in an orderly manner from the aspects of intelligent networked vehicle product research and development and functional testing, system integration and information exchange, data collection and road assessment, cost control and process management, system reliability improvement and large-scale demonstration operation. At present, the "5G+L4" intelligent heavy truck integrates advanced technologies such as AI, 5G, V2X vehicle-connected communication, etc., opens up the whole business chain process between "intelligent vehicles, fleet management, logistics scheduling, and port operations", and realizes L4-level automatic driving, centimeter-level positioning, accurate parking (±3cm), interaction with automated port machinery equipment and Donghai Bridge queue driving in specific scenarios in the port area, providing port transport users with a smarter, safer, more efficient and more environmentally friendly container transfer program.

It is reported that at present, SAIC Youdao Zhitu has a total of 14 smart heavy trucks put into operation, and has achieved 5-car formation operation, and the minimum distance between the front and rear vehicles can be controlled at about 16 meters. According to the plan, more than 30 smart heavy trucks will be invested next year to achieve the annual target of 100,000 TEUs quasi-commercial operation.
