Reading Improvement [Method] - Is reading fast reading good or intensive reading good?

Recently, some book friends asked me whether reading is speed reading or intensive reading, this question I also summarized some experiences in my usual reading, and today I will talk about my superficial views on the axe of the class.

Reading Improvement [Method] - Is reading fast reading good or intensive reading good?

The picture comes from the Internet, invaded and deleted

Reading a book chooses speed reading because: first, the book is a bit obscure and beyond the scope of their own understanding, so they probably read it again; second, the knowledge points mentioned in the book have been learned, and this part of the content is simply and quickly read and skipped; third, time is limited and you need to quickly read a book; fourth, the book does not like to read, and it is possible to understand the general meaning; fifth, read the book speed reading for the first time, find out the main points in the book and then do intensive reading.

Reading a book chooses to read intensively because: first, this book is a book that you want to read very much, and you want to learn more about the content in the book; second, this is a good book, you need to read it intensively and read it repeatedly; third, you need to excerpt some sentences and quotes in this book, so you need to read and screen intensively.

According to the different reading needs of speed reading and intensive reading, we can see the difference between the two: first, the speed reading of a book takes a short time, and the time spent intensive reading is long; second, speed reading is easy to ignore the key parts, and intensive reading can carefully read the key parts; then, speed reading can quickly refine the core points of a book, and intensive reading needs to read the whole book to extract it.

Since speed reading and intensive reading have their own strengths, you need to be clear about these points when choosing a book speed or intensive reading:

First, whether the book attracts you, whether there are enough knowledge points for you to learn, and whether the book is in line with your interests and hobbies

, you will be attracted to one of the ideas in the book and want to know more about it.

Second, what is the general content of the book?

Third, is the book difficult to read and difficult to understand?

Fourth, how long does it take to finish the book, and can you finish it within the time you have set? Wish I could do more

Read this book for a long time.

After understanding these aspects, it is better to judge whether the book needs to be read at speed or intensively.

How to read speed and intensive reading?

First of all, after getting a book, quickly turn the book from the cover, table of contents, preface, and content to understand what the book is about. See if the title in the table of contents appeals to you, and if there is an attraction, turn to the content page to quickly look at a few lines of words, and see how the content is written? Whether there is depth or not, it is worth continuing to read in depth, from which to judge whether to use speed reading or intensive reading.

Secondly, if you choose speed reading, there are two ways: one is to look at the content of the table of contents for speed reading, that is, first look at what the content of the directory title writes, and then turn to the content page for speed reading, the key content is read line by line, the unimportant content is skipped, and the key content is recorded in the notebook, only the number of pages can be recorded, this method usually has a second intensive reading after reading.

Second, each chapter and each section is read at a speed, reading at a glance and five lines, skipping the places that are not understood, not studying in detail what the content means, and then reading the places that are not understood after reading the book and thinking that the book is worth reviewing again. If you read the book quickly and feel that the book is very shallow or do not want to read it again, there is no need to read it a second time.

Again, if you choose to read intensively, first read the book from beginning to end, the cover, the waist cover, the table of contents, the preface, the main text content, the back cover, and read it carefully one by one. In the process of reading, take detailed notes, which chapters and sections have which points attract you, quotations, opinions, and reflections are recorded in a notebook, and the number of pages is indicated.

Everyone's reading habits are different, some people will use sticky note paper to record, some people will record directly on the page, and some people will take notes. Books that inspire themselves can write book reviews, book excerpts, book lists, and record their reading experience, you can write reading notes and reading feelings.

Because most of the books that usually choose speed reading are books that have overlapping knowledge or are not particularly attractive to themselves, books that are only speed-read once usually excerpt some materials. The content of intensive reading can re-integrate knowledge, form its own knowledge structure, and better apply what you have learned, digest and absorb.

Some book reading needs to be applied together with speed reading and intensive reading, speed reading and intensive reading have their own roles, each has its own benefits, reading each book is indispensable, different books are read in different ways, not reading a book must be speed reading or intensive reading. If you have a better way to read, welcome to share a message and let's read together in a way.
