Recently, in order to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Shelby's founding, Ford Motor released a new Ford Mustang Shelby Special Edition model, the new car was named Shelby Mustang GT500KR. It is reported that the new car will be sold in a limited quantity of 225 units, of which 120 units will be modified based on the vehicles provided by users, and the package will be priced at US$54,995 (about 350,200 yuan). Sixty of them are dedicated to the U.S. market, while the remaining 45 are available for overseas markets at a price of $127,895 (about 814,500 yuan).
In terms of appearance, the new car adds a large number of sporty designs to the current Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, with a large number of striped decorative lines and a large number of carbon fiber kits, a large-size intake grille on the front face, the iconic "snake mark" in the center of the grille, the 60th anniversary badge on the left side of the grille and the back of the C-pillar, and a new carbon fiber front shovel under the front face. On the side of the body, the new side skirt was also upgraded to carbon fiber, and the wheel hub was upgraded to a 20-inch aerospace grade aluminum alloy forged wheel with high-performance calipers. The rear of the car is equipped with a carbon fiber spoiler, and an oversized bilateral four-out circular exhaust is selected below.
Inside, the new car continues the design language of the current model, and the details are added with carbon fiber material to make the body lightweight. In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 engine and a 3.8-liter twin-screw supercharger, with a maximum power of more than 671kW, far exceeding the performance of the current model. In addition, the new car has upgraded the suspension system to enhance the handling of the new car.
