In April 1949, at this time, at the end of the War of Liberation, our army presented a faction like a broken bamboo, on the contrary, the Kuomintang army, which was a war without suspense, coupled with Chiang Kai-shek's lack of intention, had long since lost the idea of continuing to fight, and in the face of the offensive of our army, it was gradually defeated and retreated.

On the 21st of that month, on the Ninghang Highway in Jiangsu Province, a group of Kuomintang troops was planning to escape, but there was a special person in this army.
In the face of this Kuomintang army that tried to escape, the PLA fighters would not let it go easily, and after a not particularly fierce battle between the two sides, this army was successfully captured by our army, including that special person, Li Qiang.
Li Qiang was the deputy commander of the Kuomintang 312nd Division, a highly renowned Kuomintang officer who was highly regarded by the high command.
After capturing Li Qiang, our army was very emotional, but who knows, just at this time Li Qiang spoke.
Seeing Li Qiang's light-hearted appearance, he did not feel the slightest fear or worry because he was caught, and he calmly said: "I am an underground person who was arranged to enter the Kuomintang organizationally, and the Central Military Commission can prove my identity." ”
Hearing this, the PLA soldiers all looked at each other in disbelief.
Who is this Li Qiang, who needs the Central Military Commission to prove his identity? And is what he said true, or is he really a spy of my party?
In danger, he was ordered to enter the enemy's camp
Li Qiang was born in Anyue County, Sichuan Province, his real name is Li Biguang, Li Qiang's name is also a pseudonym given to him by Dong Biwu after joining the party, which means "strong ability", which is both praise and expectation.
The era when Li Qiang was born was not very peaceful, the country at that time was in a period of internal and external troubles, and it was precisely because of this special environment that the revolutionary trend of thought was unprecedentedly high, and it was said that "the times create heroes", so Li Qiang must also belong to one of them.
In 1935, the studious Li Qiang was successfully admitted to Sichuan Provincial First Normal University with excellent results. During his time in school, Li Qiang was exposed to many progressive books that he had not been able to access before, and it was through this that he further developed a different understanding of the word revolution.
It was also here that he met many aspiring young people who aspired to progress. They told each other about their ambitions, encouraged each other, and actively participated in various anti-Japanese salvation movements in order to do their meager efforts for the revolutionary cause.
By chance, Li Qiang met Che Yaoxian, who was working in the school at the time, and it was precisely because of this that Li Qiang's life has since become the past.
Under the leadership of Che Yaoxian, Li Qiang joined the Chinese national liberation vanguard at that time, and by virtue of his own advantages, he met many comrades-in-arms in the team and worked hard with them for the liberation victory.
It was also during this period that Li Qiang met the second person who changed his life, Zhou Junlie, who was also Li Qiang's recommendation to join the party.
Under the many contacts with Li Qiang, Zhou Junlie found that this boy was a talentable man, he was bold and careful and powerful, and most importantly, he had a positive heart to the party, absolute loyalty to the party, and would definitely be a good material for being a secret agent.
In this way, under the recommendation of Zhou Junlie, Li Qiang successfully joined the party after graduating in 1938 and became a full party member. The first big task assigned to him by the organization was to sneak into the Kuomintang and find ways to pass on intelligence and help the organization.
Wisdom and courage are also revolutionary
In 1939, after receiving the task, Li Qiang immediately set off from Yan'an to Sichuan, preparing to wait for the opportunity to infiltrate the Kuomintang.
It just so happened that Li Qiang was staying at a friend's house, and his friend happened to have a close relationship with two government workers of the Kuomintang, which also became a major breakthrough point for Li Qiang.
He began to establish a relationship with the two Kuomintang staff members on the pretext of agreeing to be close to his friend and aunt, and with his excellent social skills, he established a friendly relationship with the other party without arousing the suspicion of the other party and gained the trust of the other party, and then successfully entered the Kuomintang by virtue of this relationship.
During his incubation period, Li Qiang always stuck to his heart and never shook his revolutionary determination for anything. And in order to further gain the trust of the Kuomintang top brass and avoid suspicion, he rejected a female comrade whom the organization had originally intended to appoint to assist him, and married the daughter of Zhao Xuan, the secretary of the Kuomintang Chengdu County Party Department at that time. It was also this move that saved him a lot of trouble, and achieved a lot of convenience in subsequent actions.
For a long time after that, Li Qiang ostensibly bowed down to the Kuomintang, even at the expense of his family's wealth, but secretly he has been diligently passing on information to our side. Until 1946, by chance, Zhou Junlie, who was out of town, was accidentally recognized by a traitor and reported to him, and Zhou Junlie was arrested by the Kuomintang.
After his arrest, the Kuomintang would not let him go easily, and the enemy tortured Zhou Junlie many times, but Zhou Junlie was an old party member after all, and this basic revolutionary ethics was still there. During the trial, Zhou Junlie always pretended to be crazy and stupid, and in the face of problems, he only said that he was no longer a communist, which even made the Kuomintang half-convinced. It is also with these half-beliefs that Li Qiang has the opportunity to use his connections to successfully rescue him.
Years of lurking finally returned to the party
In 1946, in order to obtain important information from Ye Shenzhi, the chief of the Central Unification Secret Service Section, Li Qiang did not hesitate to invite a number of Kuomintang people to eat, drink and have fun, and sold a lot of family wealth for this purpose. Finally, one day in April of the same year, Ye Shenzhi, while drunk again, took Li Qiang to the safe containing important secrets, opened the box in front of him and took out the information to show off to Li Qiang.
How could Li Qiang miss such an opportunity? He took advantage of Ye Shenzhi's drunkenness and unconsciousness to firmly remember the list of Kuomintang infiltrators written on it, and tried to deliver the news so that his superiors could deal with it in a timely manner.
After more than ten years, the war of liberation was about to be won, that is, at this time, Li Qiang's yin and yang mistakenly fell into the hands of our army and became a prisoner of war, which is the scene at the beginning of the article.
Naturally, the soldiers did not easily believe the words of the "enemy general", so they first detained him with other prisoners of war, and decided to report to their superiors when the time came, seeking instructions from their superiors.
Not long after, when the commander of the supplementary regiment of the 88th Division of our army came to inspect, Li Qiang looked at his old classmates with a surprised face and excitedly said: "Qian Shenfu, is it you?" I am Li Weiping! We've both lived in the same cave before! ”
Qian Shenfu's mood at this time is indescribable, and anyone who sees his former classmates now being two or two enemies will not calm down to where in his heart. Qian Shenfu did not understand why the comrades who were together at that time switched to the Kuomintang.
When Li Qiang saw this, he repeated his previous words again and frankly said: "You can ask the Central Committee now, 'Whether our party has Any Li Qiang or his people'!" ”
Qian Shenfu also looked deeply at Li Qiang for a long time, and then sent a telegram to the Central Military Commission, fortunately, the Central Military Commission soon returned the news: Quickly send Comrade Li Qiang to Beiping.
As soon as a "comrade" came out, it was all clear, and Li Qiang was then sent to Beiping, after which the central government also restored Li Qiang's reputation, confessed the events of that year to the crowd, and praised Li Qiang.
Since then, Li Qiang has been conscientiously contributing to the construction of our country for decades until his death in 1999. After his death, he was buried in the Red Army Wall of Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery for future generations to remember.
