When you want to sleep, the noisy environment next to you is estimated to be maddening. To this end, Ms. Fan, a citizen of Wuhan, has come up with a way to use music to combat noisy environments. Needless to say, this method is really effective, but after using it for a while, Ms. Fan found that her hearing suddenly dropped.
Ms. Fan, a Wuhan resident, is 33 years old this year, and her sleep has not been very good due to the existence of neurasthenia. Especially during the lunch break at noon, the people next to me are boiling, and it is really difficult to sleep. To that end, she thought of wearing headphones and listening to music.
Wuhan citizen Ms. Fan:
With music accompanying her to sleep, Ms. Fan's sleep condition has indeed improved. However, in the past half a month, Ms. Fan found that her ears always had a "buzzing" sound, and colleagues and family members could not hear her clearly, so she came to the hospital.
Xu Weimin, deputy chief physician of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of Gutian Branch of Wuhan Fourth Hospital:
According to the doctor, the main reason for Ms. Fan's sudden deafness is the use of headphones during sleep. Because she wore headphones for a long time and slept through music, her hearing was unconsciously impaired.
According to experts, wearing headphones on the subway, wearing headphones for exercise, sleeping with headphones, and wearing headphones to listen to music in high decibels has become an important reason for affecting the hearing of young people.
Among all the causes of deafness, aging ranks first and noise ranks second. Many patients "age prematurely" their ears because of noise.
Xu Weimin, deputy chief physician of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of the Gutian Branch of Wuhan Fourth Hospital, told everyone that people who often use headphones to listen to music should master the "60-60 principle", and the volume should not exceed 60% of the maximum volume when listening to music, and the continuous listening time should not exceed 60 minutes.
Doctors remind the public that once early symptoms of hearing loss such as tinnitus, ear stuffiness, and dizziness are found, they must go to the hospital as soon as possible for specialized examination and timely treatment.
