The Tesla Model 3 suddenly lost control while driving, causing a fatal accident in the paris city area

Tesla has another accident, this time suspected to be the disaster of automatic driving.

Recently, the G7, the largest taxi company in Paris, announced on Tuesday that it was withdrawing its fleet of 37 Tesla Model 3 services and saying that the model was suspended. It turned out that just last weekend, one of the company's Tesla Model 3 taxis suddenly lost control while driving, resulting in one death and multiple injuries.

Local police quoted the driver, witnesses and watching video surveillance to initially restore the process of the incident: the Model 3 was waiting for a red light, when suddenly the vehicle sped forward, hit a cyclist and dragged him away, resulting in the death of the latter. Police said that after the results of the alcohol test, the driver did not have drunk driving behavior, and it was not clear whether the Model 3 was in Autopilot mode at the time of the accident. Live video showed the Model 3 badly damaged, with debris and debris scattered across the street, the car being flattened on the left side, the left front wheel falling off, and the windshield shattered. The drivers and passengers on the Tesla car did not suffer casualties. In response, Tesla's response is not a technical failure.

Afterwards, G7 deputy CEO Yann Ricordel revealed some details. Allegedly, on the day of the incident, a taxi driver of the company who was off duty drove a Model 3 to a restaurant with his family, and the driver tried to brake on the road, but the vehicle accelerated instead. The G7 executive said that it is not clear whether the vehicle involved in the incident used autopilot at the time of the incident, but they suspect that the vehicle itself has technical defects. Until the police investigation comes out, the company will suspend all Tesla Model 3 services, and the Model S's business will not be affected.

Tesla responded that they remotely retrieved the sensor and camera data of the damaged vehicle, and after preliminary investigation, the technical fault of the vehicle was ruled out. However, Tesla will also actively cooperate with the follow-up investigation by the Paris authorities. It is understood that since 2016, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has conducted 33 investigations into Tesla accidents, and one-third of the deaths have been suspected of using the Autopilot system.

Tesla claims that Autopilot is just a driver assistance system that keeps the lane and the car at a distance from the vehicle in front of it, and that the driver must always keep his hands on the steering wheel and keep an eye on the traffic. The implication is that it does not recommend that the driver leave the steering wheel with both hands, and if the driver really treats it as automatic driving, once there are any serious consequences, this pot Tesla does not back. But some people question that in China, Tesla's Chinese publicity for Autopilot began with "autonomous driving" rather than "automatic assisted driving" and as an independent feature to attract consumers.

Just a few days ago, Tesla became one of the 20 most valuable brands in the world, and the company's brand value achieved triple-digit growth in 2021. Now, Tesla's brand value has reached $36.27 billion. However, Tesla is not just a car company in nature, they are involved in business, in addition to car manufacturing, there are battery manufacturing and recycling, software development, large-scale commercial energy storage equipment research and development and manufacturing, home energy storage system research and development and manufacturing, global charging network operators, humanoid robot research and development companies and so on. That's not counting the technical support provided to them by space exploration technology company SpaceX and brain-computer company Neuralink. In the face of the staggering brand value, the shock caused by a series of autonomous driving accidents is much greater.

Since the beginning of this year, Tesla has exposed some fatal accidents:

On April 17, a Tesla sedan in Guangzhou's Zengcheng District overtook from the rear of a moving car and hit a roadside cement bridge, causing serious damage. The accident killed a passenger on a Tesla vehicle;

On a highway in Texas, USA, a Tesla Model S hit a tree and started a fire while driving. The accident killed two men in the car and burned down only the frame of the car. Police found that the vehicle was unmanned at the time of the incident. Tesla immediately denied that the vehicle was in a state of automatic driving at the time of the incident;

On May 5, a Tesla Model 3 electric car crashed into a truck in a road location in Fontaine, California, USA, killing tesla owners. Two videos of the deceased on TikTok and Facebook were pulled out. In the video, the deceased praised Tesla's full autopilot capabilities and can be seen that its hands were not on the steering wheel while driving;

On May 7, in Shaoguan, Guangdong Province, a Tesla sedan lost control and rear-ended the truck in front of it, causing the driver to die on the spot;

On May 17, in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, two traffic policemen were dealing with a traffic accident on the viaduct, when suddenly a black Tesla sedan came from a distance and collided directly with two policemen, causing one traffic policeman to die in the line of duty and another to be seriously injured;

On July 26, in the United States, a Tesla Model Y crashed into a 52-year-old man who was changing the tires of a faulty car on the side of the road while using the Autopilot system, killing him.
