Samsung expects the folding screen mobile phone market to explode, and the screen production target will increase to 25 million pieces

IT Home December 17 news, according to foreign media BusinessKorea reported, Samsung Display (Samsung Display) is expected to break out in the future folding screen mobile phone market, in order to cope with the growing demand for OLED panels, the company plans to fold OLED screen production target from 17 million pieces per year to 25 million pieces.

As of now, Samsung is still the largest brand in the shipment of folding screen mobile phones, but with the launch of folding screen models by a number of Chinese manufacturers, Samsung's market share will decline.

OPPO officially released the OPPO Find N folding screen mobile phone on December 15, its 7.1-inch folding inner screen is manufactured by Samsung, using E5 luminous material, supporting 1Hz-120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Huawei's P50 Pocket folding screen phone will also be released in the near future, and its folding screen is expected to be provided by BOE.

Foreign media also revealed that the POL-Less polarized film OELD panel developed by Samsung Display is expected to be supplied to Huawei's Mate X series new folding screen model, and the product is expected to be launched in the first half of 2022.

According to IT Home, market research firm Omdia predicts that the shipment of foldable OLED panels will increase from 10 million in 2021 to 66.61 million in 2025, with an average annual growth rate of 61%.
