Wang Yaowu, a Kuomintang anti-Japanese general
Wang Yaowu was born in 1904 to a very ordinary peasant family in Tai'an County, Shandong Province, where his father and brother died when he was very young and raised by his mother.
When Wang Yaowu was nine years old, his mother let him study in the village, and he worshiped Zhang Baoting as a teacher, and he often studied the "Four Books" and "Five Classics" under the guidance of the teacher. When Wang Yaowu was nineteen years old, due to family reasons, he could not afford to go to school, so Wang Yaowu had to drop out of school.
At this time, Wang Yaowu defected to a relative's house in Tianjin and later did odd jobs in a tobacco company in the Tianjin concession. After that, he went to Shanghai to work as a clerk at a candy company in Shanghai.
Wang Yaowu dropped out of school because he had no money, and Wang Yaowu always liked to study, and later, one winter in 1924, Wang Yaowu saw that the Whampoa Military Academy was enrolling, so he went to Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, to register for the exam.
In November 1924, Wang Yaowu successfully passed the examination and officially became a cadet of the Whampoa Military Academy. Wang Yaowu was very hard during his studies, he strictly abided by the school motto, studied diligently, and many students and teachers had a very good impression of him.
In the second year of entering the Whampoa Military Academy, warlords occupied Chaozhou and Shantou and planned an attack on Guangzhou. The National Revolutionary Army was preparing to begin the Crusade on October 1, 1925, with the student army of the National Revolutionary Army and the National Revolutionary Army as the main forces, and due to the small number of people, the cadets of the third phase of the Whampoa Military Academy were used.

Wang Yaowu graduated from the Whampoa Military Academy in January 1926, and after graduation, he was assigned to the Fourth Company of the Third Regiment of the First Division of the National Revolutionary Army as a platoon leader.
Wang Yaowu was very talented in combat, and very brave and witty, and soon he was promoted from platoon leader to company commander. After the victory of the Second Crusade, he was appreciated by Zheng Tuishi of the Fuzhou District Court while in Fuzhou, and later Wang Yaowu married Zheng Yizhi.
In the spring of 1928, Wang Yaowu participated in the Second Northern Expedition, and his targets were Sun Chuanfang and Zhang Zongchang. The Japanese sheltered Zhang Zongchang very much, and at this time, the "May 3rd Massacre" that shocked China and foreign countries broke out.
Chiang Kai-shek did not want to make a fuss, and for fear of triggering a Sino-Japanese war, he ordered the army to take a detour. Wang Yaowu made many achievements in the Battle of the Central Plains, and was later promoted to regimental commander.
In 1932, Wang Yaowu participated in the fourth encirclement and suppression, but was later besieged by the Red Army, and the brigade commander at the time, Bai Tianmin, ordered a retreat, and Wang Yaowu ended with the Red Army taking the initiative to retreat in the Battle of Tanjiaqiao, after which Wang Yaowu was promoted to the commander of the Fifty-first Division.
In the Battle of Songhu, the Battle of Lanfeng, the Battle of Wanjialing, the First Battle of Changsha and the Battle of Shanggao, Wang Yaowu showed his wisdom and excellent combat ability. In the Battle of Changde, Wang Yaowu finally succeeded in recapturing Changde City after six days and six nights of fierce fighting.
In the Battle of Xuefeng Mountain, Wang Yaowu personally commanded the troops to carry out the battle plan, at this time the Japanese army had a total of six divisions and regiments, about 100,000 troops of the army and 300,000 troops of Wang Yaowu carried out a two-month campaign, and finally the Japanese army was repelled and collapsed.
About 30,000 enemy soldiers were annihilated this time, and a total of seventeen Japanese officers, 347 horses, more than 1,300 rifles and other 20 tons of booty were captured. After this campaign, Wang Yaowu was elected a member of the Kuomintang Central Executive Committee, and Wang Yaowu was only forty years old at this time.
Become a prisoner of the People's Liberation Army
During the Civil War, Wang Yaowu's opponent was Su Yu, who many years ago had been a defeated general under Wang Yaowu. In the Battle of Laiwu, Chen Yi once proposed his own battle plan, and he wanted to lure the nationalist general Li Xianzhou to venture forward.
Li Xianzhou entered Chen Yi's plan, and Wang Yaowu found that Li Xianzhou's ease in taking Linyi was incredible, so he suspected that there was deception, and he felt that Li Xianzhou had entered the enemy's plan and immediately ordered a retreat.
At this time, Chen Cheng decided that Chen Yi would cross the Yellow River in the north, so he insisted that Li Xianzhou lead the army to protect the Laiwu position. Before the Battle of Jinan, the People's Liberation Army had conquered many cities in Shandong, and a situation of pinch attack had been formed on Jinan, and the city of Jinan had become an empty city at this time. Escape and be caught
In desperation, Wang Yaowu could only accept orders and stick to the city of Jinan. On the night of September 22, 1948, the People's Liberation Army had already approached the city, and after twenty-four days and nights, Jinan was finally liberated. The People's Liberation Army searched all over Jinan City and did not find Wang Yaowu, because at this time Wang Yaowu had already led the guards to escape.
