In the late Ming Dynasty, the Jurchens in the Liaodong region were divided into many tribes, and Menggu Zhezhe was the daughter of the yehe chieftain. The high-ranking members of the tribe intermarried with each other in order to consolidate the alliance and expand their interests through marriage. The marriage of Menggu Zhezhe and Nurhaci is the product of this alliance.
At that time, the leader of the Yehe tribe was named Yang Jianu, who was also the father of Meng Guzhezhe. The Hada Department, which was adjacent to Yehebu, continued to grow larger due to the support of the Ming Dynasty, and the leader Wang Tai was named a dragon and tiger general by the Ming court, and became the leader of the Liaodong region. In the eleventh year of the Wanli Dynasty, Li Chengliang, the commander-in-chief of the Ming Dynasty, led a large army to attack Yehebu, and Yang Jianu, the leader of Yehebu, and his brother Qingjianu were killed by the Ming army, and Yehebu was suddenly in chaos. Meng Guzhezhe, who lost his father, and his mother escaped the disaster. Later, Yang Jianu's son succeeded the chief, quickly stabilizing the situation, and Yehebu was spared from extinction.
Although Ye Hebu was seriously injured in the war with the Ming Dynasty, Nurhaci did not repent, and the marriage he had decided was still valid. In the sixteenth year of the Wanli Calendar, Meng Guzhe was fourteen years old. Escorted by her brother Narinbulu, the new chief of the Yehe tribe, she came to Nurhaci's station for a grand wedding. This year, Nurhaci was thirty years old.
Meng guzhezhe was only one of Nurhaci's many wives. After getting married, Nurhaci was very good to Menggu Zhezhe, and the relationship between the two was very harmonious. In the fourth year of marriage, Meng Gu became emperor Taiji. Nurhaci loved her even more.
With the change of the situation, Nurhaci's power grew larger and larger, and gradually unified the Jurchen ministries of Jianzhou, and the power had surpassed the Yehe department. As a result, the relationship between Nurhaci and Yehebe gradually changed, and with the disparity in strength, the alliance was broken. The two tribes slowly changed from close allies to enemies.

And this incident also made Nurhaci resentful for a lifetime. Later, he led his troops to conquer Yehebu, and also ordered a large killing order to vent his anger.
After Meng guzhezhe's death, Nurhaci was very sad, and he poured all his love for her into the funeral. The funeral was solemn and lavish. The history books say that in order for someone to serve her, Nurhaci killed four maids to bury her, slaughtered a hundred cows and a hundred horses to sacrifice. Nurhaci fasted for a month himself, not drinking alcohol or eating meat. As if that wasn't enough, he also put Meng Guzhezhe's coffin in the courtyard where he lived, and parked it for three years. It can be seen that Nurhaci is truly in love with Menggu Zhezhe.
After Emperor Taiji succeeded to the throne, he built a huge mausoleum for Nurhaci and called it Fuling. After the mausoleum was built, Emperor Taiji moved the skeleton of his mother Meng Guzhezhe to Fuling and buried it with Nurhaci.
