Not long ago, coinciding with the second anniversary of the establishment of the brand, Jetta joined hands with its first new car Jetta VS7 second anniversary customized version, Jetta VS5 2022 model, VS7 black front version Pro, "three arrows together" strong landing in Guangzhou Auto Show. All three models were born at FAW-Volkswagen Chengdu Branch in Longquanyi District. The data shows that from January to October 2021, jetta brand sales increased by 15% year-on-year, achieving contrarian growth and leading the same level of automobile market.
"Longquan-made" Asian Dragon model rolled off the production line
On June 7 this year, the "Longquan-made" Asian Dragon model rolled off the production line of Sichuan FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., and it is expected that the cumulative output of the next two years will reach 400,000 vehicles, with a total output value of more than 80 billion yuan. On the same day, Dongfeng Citroen Versailles C5X mass production car rolled off the production line of Dongfeng Citroen Automobile Chengdu Branch, which was officially exported to Europe in early September this year.

Behind the frequent big moves, speed and efficiency is the upward curve drawn by the automobile industry in Longquanyi District. In recent years, Longquanyi District has deeply implemented the Volkswagen brand strategy, Toyota doubling strategy, Geely high-end strategy and DPCA revitalization plan, driving existing vehicle companies to improve quality and efficiency, promoting the accelerated development of the Jetta brand, Volvo XC60 expansion, Lynk & Co 06 and other new models on the market, and actively promoting the implementation of various preferential enterprise bailout policies. The annual vehicle output is stable at more than 1 million vehicles, and the output value of the automobile industry is stable at more than 150 billion yuan.

On May 29 this year, at the 2021 Sichuan Investment Promotion Conference and Project Cooperation Agreement Signing Ceremony of Well-known Chinese and Foreign Enterprises, Longquanyi District and AVIC Lithium Battery Technology Co., Ltd. successfully signed a contract, and the AVIC Lithium Battery Power Battery and Energy Storage Battery Chengdu Base Project was officially settled. This is not only the first project of AVIC Lithium Battery Technology Co., Ltd. to land in Chengdu, but also the project with the largest investment volume so far. The project was only 68 days from the docking connection to the landing, and once again refreshed the "LongquanYi Speed".
Road testing of intelligent connected vehicles
Less than half a month later, on June 8, the Road Test of Chengdu Intelligent Connected Vehicle was launched in the Sichuan Test Base of "Sino-German Intelligent Connected Vehicles, Vehicle Networking Standards and Test Verification" in Chengdu Economic Development Zone, which will first meet the test and evaluation of innovative products of intelligent and connected vehicles at home and abroad, support the issuance of temporary licenses for intelligent and connected vehicles in Chengdu, and effectively promote the high-quality development of the automobile industry and promote the transformation and upgrading of the automobile industry in the new development pattern.
Major projects have followed, injecting strong momentum into regional economic development. On June 28, 2019, volvo Cars Brand Experience Center (China), with a total area of nearly 10,000 square meters, was inaugurated in Longquanyi, the first automobile brand experience center in China with the concept of full dimension and full value chain, and the world's first brand experience center outside Sweden.
On October 21 this year, the FAW-Volkswagen Digital R&D Center was unveiled in Chengdu, officially opening a new chapter in the development of the digital economy of FAW-Volkswagen and Chengdu for the future, cooperation and co-creation, promotion of the transformation and upgrading of the automobile industry, and assistance to the development of Chengdu's digital economy.
