The most difficult area for the construction of the Winter Olympics! "Snow F1" will be staged here!

The core area of the Yanqing Competition Area of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games is located in the southern foothills of Xiaohaituo Mountain, with an altitude of 2198 meters, which is the most difficult competition area for the construction of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games. A total of "two halls and one village" will be built: the National Alpine Ski Center, the National Bobsleigh Center and the Yanqing Winter Olympic Village. Adhering to the design concept of "mountain forest venues, ecological Winter Olympics", the construction of the venue began at the end of March 2017 and was completed in December 2020, and the builders finally turned the blueprint into reality after four years of hardship.

Standing at the peak departure area located at the highest point of Xiaohaituo Mountain, the "Snow Dragon" at the foot of the mountain - the National Bobsleigh Center is like a giant dragon lying quietly, waiting for a moment to soar; the snow track of the National Alpine Ski Center, known as "Snow Flying Swallow", is like 7 white waterfalls meandering from the top of the mountain to the valley, while 11 ropeways and cable cars are like a jumping music to connect each area of alpine skiing; the Chinese-style courtyard of Yanqing Winter Olympic Village is quietly hidden between the mountains and forests. The harmonious integration of sports facilities and natural landscapes has been realized, ensuring that people can enjoy the endless charm of ice and snow sports and the ecological beauty of nature.

The relevant person in charge of the Beijing Municipal Major Project Office told The Lychee News reporter that Yanqing Division is a green and clean energy division that uses 100% wind power and solar power, and is a "sponge-type competition area" where all water resources are self-collected, processed and reused. Through the construction of an underground comprehensive pipe corridor in the alpine area that accommodates all the pipelines of municipal facilities in the competition area, the skyline scenery of Xiaohaituo Mountain is still the same; it is also an "ecological competition area", all the native soil on the construction surface of the building in the competition area is collected, and after the completion of the construction, all the original soil is covered, and all the precious trees are protected in situ and relocated. All venues in the competition area have passed the Green Building Samsung certification. Therefore, it is a real "green division".

Beijing has entered the first year of green electricity

Beijing entered the "First Year of Green Electricity" in 2020 due to the Winter Olympics. Through the construction of the Zhangbei flexible DC power grid project, the rich wind power resources in Zhangbei area were innovatively introduced into Beijing, so that the Beijing Winter Olympics used 100% of green power resources, and "the lights of Beijing were lit with the wind of Zhangbei". In fact, with the commissioning of this project, green electricity such as photovoltaic and wind power from Zhangjiakou has entered every household in Beijing. It can transmit 14 billion kWh of "green electricity" to Beijing every year, which is one-tenth of Beijing's annual electricity consumption. This is equivalent to saving 4.9 million tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 12.8 million tons.

According to reports, Zhangjiakou itself is a very rich area of renewable energy, and the installed capacity of renewable energy generation exceeds 10 million kilowatts, which is equivalent to a "green power Three Gorges". The flexible DC, its original intention is flexible and controllable DC meaning, through this technology, the original uncontrollable, can not be networked DC lines are connected together, forming a DC power grid. Respectively, it is connected to the wind farm and photovoltaic power farm in Zhangjiakou. In this way, clean energy such as intermittent and unstable wind power and photovoltaics will be converted into stable electric energy delivered to Beijing. Beijing has a huge market, Zhangjiakou has a wealth of green and clean energy, through this soft straight power grid, and finally formed a beijing and Hebei complementary advantages, the common development of ecological governance of the general pattern.

Ecological restoration and venue construction are carried out simultaneously

According to reports, highlighting the "green Olympic Games", combining the construction of Olympic venues with the promotion of ecological civilization construction, and striving to make sports venues and municipal supporting facilities harmoniously integrate with the natural landscape of Xiaohaituo Mountain are important principles for the construction of venues in Yanqing. The highest altitude in the competition area is 2198 meters, the construction conditions are difficult, and the ecological restoration work is no less difficult than the new stadium project. The work lasted six years and was completed in June 2021, making it the longest construction period for the Beijing Winter Olympics. The builders overcame various difficulties, from the ecological survey at the beginning of the construction to the formulation of protection standards, from the construction while protecting, to the full completion of the ecological restoration project, with a total restoration area of 2.14 million square meters.

In 2016, before the "first shoveling soil", relevant forestry, water and soil, and ecological experts carried out a very forward-looking work in advance: ecological environment background survey. The distribution of animals and plants in the competition area was explored in detail, and the species, quantity and distribution characteristics of animals and plants in the competition area, as well as key data such as soil and hydrology, were clarified, which provided a scientific decision-making basis for the protection and restoration of the ecosystem. On this basis, the possible ecological and environmental disturbances caused by the construction of Olympic facilities will be evaluated to minimize the possible negative impacts due to the construction of venues and infrastructure.

The builders treat every plant and tree in the competition area as a life with a soul. At the beginning of the construction of the project, the disturbed plants in the competition area were provided with "one-on-one" humanized services. According to the different impacts of each tree during construction, as well as the characteristics of the plant, a "privately customized" conservation scheme was carried out. For plants with good ecological environment and small disturbances by construction, they are protected in situ to make them an important part of the building; for trees that cannot be avoided during the construction process, the builders have formulated a detailed "migration plan". In April 2017, it was determined that No. 8 Land in Shangbanquan Village, Zhangshanying Town, Yanqing District, would be used as a relocation protection base, and 762 trees were also transplanted to the newly built Winter Olympic Forest Park. Up to now, a total of 313 trees have been protected in situ in the competition area, 24,272 trees have been transplanted from the site, and nearly 300 mu of ex-situ protection bases have been built, with a survival rate of about 91%; 11,027 shrubs have been transplanted in the vicinity, and these plants are carefully maintained by professional garden units.

At the same time, in order to leave the most beautiful skyline of Xiaohaituo Mountain, the builders overcame the difficulties of tight construction period and difficult construction, and chose to build the first underground comprehensive pipe corridor with large slopes in China, and all the water, electricity and communication facilities were transported through the underground comprehensive pipe corridor, avoiding the traditional way of laying the 98-kilometer pipeline of 18 roads along the mountain type, and minimizing the ecological impact on Xiaohaituo Mountain.

"Two museums and one village" have reached the highest level of green buildings

The "two pavilions and one village" in Yanqing Division have reached the highest level of green three-star standards. Yanqing Winter Olympic Village is designed in accordance with the national highest level of green building three-star standards. Among them, 6 groups of residents are built as ultra-low energy consumption demonstration projects. It is understood that ultra-low energy consumption buildings refer to reasonable orientation, thermal insulation and energy-saving heat dissipation systems, natural ventilation, etc., so that the house can reach comfortable temperature and humidity requirements whether in the hot summer or cold winter, while reducing energy consumption, improve the livable experience.

Since the National Alpine Ski Center and the National School Car Bobsleigh Center are both projects to fill the gap, the construction task is the first time in China, and there is no relevant standard to follow. The builders have formulated the "Evaluation Standards for Green Snow Sports Venues", which has become the basis for the green evaluation of snow venues, and has now become a local standard, compiling the standards for track and refrigeration design and acceptance enterprises, and becoming the basis for project acceptance. These standards not only provide a basis and support for the construction of the Winter Olympic Games, but also provide a basis for the standardization and standardization of the construction of volkswagen snow fields, which has brought a positive role in promoting the development and upgrading of the entire industry.

In addition, in the construction process, the abandoned slag is used for ski road filling and landscape engineering, the internal digestion of discarded slag totals about 300,000 cubic meters, and at the same time, the stone excavated during the construction is reused after simple processing to make a "stone cage wall" for various types of buildings, local materials, local conditions, etc., forming a strong cultural characteristics of mountain villages in northern China such as stone walls and stone houses.
