In late November, following the release of the new (second-generation) flagship sports street car 2022' MT-10 in early November, Yamaha released the MT-10 SP (MT-10 DX) based on the standard version but with a higher configuration.
Yamaha first introduced the MT series of sports street cars in 2013 to replace the original FZ/XJ series models. The flagship MT-10 was first released in 2016. The new MT-10 SP is a product that comes under the heels of the Standard Edition.
The new MT-10 SP is powered by an in-line four-cylinder CP4 engine based on the same supercar YZF-R1 as the standard version, with a displacement of 998 cc and a maximum power output of 122 kw (approximately 165.9 hp). The maximum torque output has also been increased from 111 Nm in the first generation to 112 Nm now. In terms of body, the original Deltabox biplane frame with a lightweight design is used; the appearance adopts a more concise style than the first generation model; a large number of electronic control systems.
Compared to the standard model, the MT-10 SP is fitted with a semi-active suspension system from Ohlins Olins, which is a second-generation product with a new fork-actuated slide valve damping technology that allows the Rider to set up the suspension system to suit the current riding environment through the menu function: the menu offers three semi-active damping modes (A-1 Sport, A-2 regular road riding mode and A-3 travel mode with an emphasis on comfort and stability) and three manual settings (M-1, M-2 and). M-3) optional, manual mode allows precise electronic adjustment of the compression and rebound damping of the fork and rear shock; when any automatic mode (semi-active mode) similar to the "fool" operation is selected, the system will automatically adjust the rebound and compression damping of the suspension system through the induction components to match the current operating conditions, and constantly make automatic changes to ensure that the most appropriate settings are in a state that is always in effect.
Other differences include the SP version's standard fairing at the bottom of the engine, a braided steel brake tube with a better feel, and a unique body pattern.
Yamaha said that since 2013, The Dark Side of Japan's dimensional culture has been the inspiration behind their development of the MT car series. The entire MT series was designed and manufactured by a group of people who were with the motorcycle from breathing to eating and sleeping, and tested by a large number of riders in pursuit of a fresh two-wheeled experience.
The new 2022' MT-10 SP is tentatively scheduled to begin in mid-next year and will be available to local distributors in Europe.
