Wanning, Hainan, December 16 ( Wang Panlong) The 2021 National Surfing Competition opened in Riyue Bay, Wanning, Hainan on the 15th. The event includes three domestic surfing heavyweight events, including the National Surf championship, the national youth surfing championship, and the national U series finals, with a duration of 8 days and nearly 300 players, coaches and team leaders participating.

According to reports, the competition is divided into three groups: open group, U18 group and U15 group, each group contains men's long, short and women's long, short and men's sub-team competitions, and the open group has a relay race, and the competition takes the form of double field at the same time. Huang Yingying, the first surfing gold medalist at the National Games, Qiu Zhuo, the men's short board champion of the 14th National Games, and Huang Yige, the runner-up, also participated in the event.
Wang Sanfang, deputy secretary of the CPC Wanning Municipal Committee and acting mayor of the Municipal People's Government, said in his speech at the opening ceremony that he hoped to expand the influence of surfing through the event, promote the in-depth integration and development of sports, tourism and education, and build Wanning into a water sports destination that global tourists yearn for.
In recent years, Wanning has actively explored in the aspect of "culture, sports + tourism", held a series of high-level international cultural and sports events, and focused on creating a series of brand sports events covering international surfing races, regattas, international sea fishing races, And China Dragon Boat Races. In addition, Wanning will also build an industrial chain integrating surfing equipment, clothing, trademarks, training systems, athlete rehabilitation and product display, improve supporting facilities, realize the industrialization of surfing sports, and better serve the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port.
