Hainan Oriental, March 1 (Xinhua) -- On March 1, the 2022 National Archery Championships opened in Dongfang City, Hainan Province, with 423 athletes from 29 teams across the country participating.
This is the first stop of this year's national archery competition, which will continue until the 6th of this month.

The competition aims to test the results of winter training and prepare for the selection of the Hangzhou Asian Games. After the game, the national team will add 16 players.
The competition consists of men's and women's individual 70 meters first and second rounds (72 arrows), men's and women's individual 70 meters double rounds, men's and women's team 70 meters first, second round and mixed team competitions, and will determine the gold, silver and bronze medals in five events: men's individual and team, women's individual and team and mixed team.
It is understood that 45 athletes from the national archery training team also returned to their respective provincial teams to participate in the competition. Wei Shaoxuan, Wang Dapeng, Wu Jiaxin, Long Xiaoqing and other masters who have participated in the Tokyo Olympic Games will also compete for medals in related events.
Wei Shaoxuan said that this was his first time to play in the East, "compared with the previous games, the climate in the East is pleasant, the light is very good, the wind is not strong, and it is very suitable for archery competitions."
Long Xiaoqing said after the day's game that this competition was mainly exercise, because of the poor state before, he hoped to play a good game in this game and prepare for the selection of the Asian Games.
Wang Suizhen, vice mayor of Dongfang City, introduced that the National Archery Championship will be held in the city for two consecutive years. Dongfang City is promoting the construction of the archery southern training base, and welcomes everyone to come to the East for training and competition. (End)
