Italy won the gold medal in the 6 km swimming relay

The 2021 Grand Finals of the Huati Group/FINA World Marathon Swimming Series were held on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, from 15 to 16 December. In addition to the 10km marathon swim, the series joins the open water swimming mixed relay for the first time. In the relay race, 4 runners from each team (2 men and 2 women) are required to complete the 1500-meter swim, which means that the total relay completes the 6-kilometer swimming event.

Italy won the 4x1500m relay race with a time of 1 hour 6 minutes and 49 seconds 1. Hungary (1:06.51.7) and Germany (1:07.29.0) won silver and bronze medals respectively.
