Musk called a halt to Bitcoin car purchases

Musk tweeted on May 12 that Tesla has suspended the use of bitcoin in car purchases because it is worried that bitcoin mining will increase the use of fossil fuels.

The report noted that within two hours of the tweet, the price of bitcoin plummeted from near $54,819 to $45,700, the lowest since March 1.
