Pan Maoming is already a mythical figure in the western region of Guangdong Province, and the people call him "Pan Xian", believing that he has become an immortal. Born in 290, Pan Maoming was gifted and intelligent from an early age, showing a unique natural ability, and the difficult and obscure literature in the eyes of others was clear in his eyes, and he had an unforgettable skill, so he soon had an outstanding reputation.
Although he already had a strong influence, Pan Maoming did not want to enter the dynasty as an official, but chose to live in seclusion and became a "virgin", that is, a person with virtue and talent but did not want to be an official, although they were not in the court, but they also had a certain impact on the emperor, the emperor would be afraid that his actions would be despised by these virgins, so he would be much more cautious in his behavior.

Of course, Pan Maoming's cultivation into an immortal is not verifiable, probably just the beautiful yearning of later generations, but according to the "Taiping Huanyu Record", the water after Pan Maoming's alchemy smells very fragrant, and it has a very wonderful taste for boiling tea, so that the emperor has heard of the reputation and specially sent emissaries to ask for his alchemy water, which shows that Pan Maoming is most likely proficient in the art of health maintenance.
Pan Maoming died in 373 at the age of 83, which was an absolute high lifespan in an era of "seventy years of life". Because Pan Maoming treated diseases and saved people in the local area, and did countless good deeds and accumulated virtues, the local people, in order to commemorate him, called his hermit mountain Pan Mountain and changed the nearby area to Maoming. Maoming City has been in good condition for thousands of years, and now it is even richer and oilier, with the nickname of "Oil City".
