Tang's interest in seal engraving stemmed from his initial study of calligraphy. When he was young, his parents took him to learn calligraphy and practice calligraphy during the holidays, and he fell in love with calligraphy. From elementary school, Deng Weilong studied calligraphy with his mentor Ma Shuangquan, and the first engraving badge given to him by his mentor opened the door to a new world and became interested in the traditional Chinese engraving culture. When mentioning the mentor, he said gratefully: "Teacher Ma is funny and humorous, if I have any ideas in my head, it must be brought to me by him." ”
In September this year, he began to study seal engraving. After completing his first childish work, he couldn't wait to ask his mentor for advice, and Ma Shuangquan gave him great affirmation and encouragement, "It was Teacher Ma's affirmation of me that gave me the motivation to continue practicing." Deng Weilong recalled that in the early days of self-study on the road of seal carving, it was easy to hurt the hand. He told reporters that there was originally a kind of seal engraving that could be used to fix the stone, but he preferred to take the stone in his hand and carve it, thinking that only in this way could he personally feel the strength of each knife carved and "inject soul" into it. He said, "Another important role of the engraving seal is anti-counterfeiting, every knife that everyone drops is different, and its uniqueness is as unrepeatable as the fingerprint." ”

Deng Weilong likes to give the carved seal to the teachers of the school, for him the engraving is not only a symbolic meaning, but also an emotional sustenance, pouring his respect and love for art on the small stone. During the interview, Deng Weilong showed the reporter a booklet of engraved seals, which printed most of the engravings he made, and the reporter saw that most of the engravings were more complicated. Deng Weilong said that he still has a long way to go on the road of seal carving, he will buy some cheap stones in the future, hard practice the basic skills, he said, "I also want to try the side, this is generally engraved on the side of the seal or the back of the text, and even want to explore the inscription in the future."
