Tan Dun, Fang Jinlong, Li Biao, Xu Zhong, four internationally renowned Chinese musicians bring five New Year's concerts with different styles.
On December 26-27, Tan Dun joined hands with China's famous original rock band Hanggai Band, pipa player Han Yan, Liu Wenwen, and Changsha Symphony Orchestra to present the musical epic "Symphonic Rock Bach Universe".

Chinese music master Fang Jinlong has the reputation of "the representative figure of contemporary five-string pipa". On December 28th, Fang Jinlong and the New Kyushu Philharmonic Orchestra crossed the East and the West together, breaking the wall of the second dimension, and the New Year's audio-visual concert of "Dou Le X Second Dimension" used the most understanding of young people to make the Chinese music cool, very dazzling, very burning and very fashionable. In order to cooperate with the annual closing station, the Guangdong Provincial Art Research Institute as the guiding unit, Guangzhou Grand Theatre and Fang Jinlong team jointly planned the "No Matter West east - Fang Jinlong Chinese and foreign ancient musical instruments collection exhibition" will also open in December.
Li Biao is one of the few artists in the world classical music industry who can successfully perform both conductor and percussion solos. On December 29th, Li Biao conducted the Beijing Symphony Orchestra and joined hands with pianist Wan Jieyi to bring a "Delight in Listening to Chinese and Western - The New Year Symphony Concert at the End of the Year" to the audience in Guangzhou. Xu Zhong, President of the Shanghai Opera House, Chief Conductor of the Verona Summer Music Festival and Opera House in Italy, will lead the Shanghai Opera House's huge lineup to stage two consecutive Chinese and Western music epics on the last day of 2021.

The highlight of the first concert on December 31 was Bran's Poetry, an immortal masterpiece in the history of Western music. Under the baton of master conductor Xu Zhong, the Shanghai Opera House Symphony Orchestra, the Shanghai Opera House Choir, the specially invited baritone singer Sun Yan, the soprano singer Xiong Yufei and the tenor singer Zheng Yao will join hands with the Guangzhou Opera House Children's Choir to present this musical epic that is rarely seen on the stage with a huge compilation of more than 200 people.
The second concert on December 31 will feature the magnificent and exciting vocal suite "Yellow River Chorus". Xu Zhong will lead more than 180 people, including the Shanghai Opera House Symphony Orchestra, choir and singers, to present one of Xian Xinghai's most important and influential works. As a well-known symphonic chorus reserve of the Shanghai Opera House, "Yellow River Chorus" runs through the background of recitation and orchestra, including solo singing, duet, female chorus, mixed chorus, recitation and other forms of expression, its grand structure and volume, the spiritual core contained, as well as the artists' solid singing skills and full of spirit, all make this classic work deeply loved by the public.

Wu Hongni, a popular mezzo-soprano in the international music scene, will hold her solo concert at the Opera Hall of the Guangzhou Opera House on December 19, which is also the last performance of the "2021 Guangzhou Mahler Works Exhibition" organized by the Guangzhou Opera House and the Xinghai Concert Hall. At the concert, Wu Hongni will challenge the artistic songs of the Austrian composer Mahler and the German composer Richard Strauss, two representative figures of the late Romantic music school, including Mahler's "Song of Youth", "Young Devil's Horn", "Traveler's Song" and other representative works, as well as a selection of 8 vocal works by Richard Strauss.
The Nutcracker.
In his lifetime, the Russian romantic composer Tchaikovsky composed three popular ballet pieces - "Swan Lake", "Sleeping Beauty" and "The Nutcracker", which have been called "the three most brilliant diamonds in the ballet crown". The Guangzhou Opera House's New Year season brings two of them to the audience.
From December 24th to 25th, Guangzhou Ballet will present "The Nutcracker", the most fairytale ballet in Tchaikovsky's writing, and a milestone in the history of dance art. Guangzhou Ballet's new production version of the ballet "The Nutcracker" specially invited the famous Korean choreographer Liu Bingxian, on the basis of retaining the musicality and artistry of the original work, to reshape the classics with international vision and modern aesthetic awareness. The play breaks the traditional visual senses of ballet, skillfully integrates the contemporary Chinese urban landscape and cultural elements, and perfectly integrates the magical stage effects and the sweet aesthetic mood; and the artistic appeal given by the music is like a link connecting the soul, awakening people's childlike heart and innocence hidden deep in the memory.
Swan Lake.
During the New Year's Day holiday in 2022, Liaoning Ballet will bring "Swan Lake", starring star dancers Ao Dingwen, Wang Zhanfeng, Zhang Haidong and so on. "Swan Lake" is a model of ballet, a synonym for ballet, the pinnacle of ballet, and has endured with the changes of the times. From January 7th to 9th, "Dance Gemini" Han Zhen and Zhou Liya will bring their well-known masterpiece "The Eternal Radio Wave" to the Guangzhou Opera House for the fourth time, which shows the love of the Guangzhou audience for this dance drama. "The Eternal Electric Wave" not only has red elements and spy atmosphere, but also uses the unique form of dance drama to present the urban characteristics of old Shanghai such as Shikumen, lanes, roads, newspaper halls, and cheongsam tailor shops on the stage in detail.

The Chinese ballet classic "Red Detachment of Women" has been published for more than 50 years, and its artistic charm, creativity, vitality and appeal have inspired countless people. From January 19th to 20th, the National Ballet of China will bring this "treasure of the town group".
Memories are like water, shining brightly
Whether you are a "post-50s", "post-80s", "post-90s" or "post-00s", there are always a few melodies and a few images that can instantly open your thoughts and conversation boxes, and shout "Ye Qinghui" together.
On December 12, the Disney Carnival Concert, authorized by The official genuine version of Walt Disney, carefully selected nearly 20 classic melodies from Disney's eleven popular animations in the past 100 years, and the theme songs and soundtracks from many classic animations such as "Frozen", "The Lion King", "Beauty and the Beast", and "Aladdin" that are loved by the audience will all appear. The concert invited a number of outstanding musical theater actors active in the domestic musical theater stage to sing these most representative songs in English, and strive to present the most original stage, with a magnificent symphony accompaniment with a wide range of voices, and the large screen on the stage synchronously released Disney cartoon movie clips in high definition, perfectly integrating singing, symphony and animation.
On December 16th, the Long Shadow Orchestra will bring the "Melody of Light and Shadow" 2022 New Year Chinese and Foreign Film Audiovisual Concert. The Long Shadow Orchestra is the first national film symphony orchestra in New China, founded in 1947. From December 31, 2021 to January 1, 2022, three percussionists accompanied the big and small children to celebrate the New Year with the creative parent-child concert "Knock Happy". Using drumsticks as trumpets, the three musicians invited spectators large and small to take a ride on the "Knock Happy" helicopter to embark on a musical journey that was either warm, beautiful, funny, or dreamy. Toms, hand dishes, cahun drums, vibrato, Chinese drums, small cymbals, small tambourines and even tables, newspapers... These familiar and unfamiliar instruments will be the protagonists of this musical journey, and in the hands of three percussion musicians, the theater is transformed into a big sound playground.
On January 14-15, 2022, "Ma Liang", a "magic pen" from Spain, and his good friends under the brush will stage a highly interactive multimedia animation drama "Cat Flying Dog Jump".
