Rosberg: F1 race director Massy has been wronged and he needs support

In the 2021 Abu Dhabi finale, when Williams driver Nicholas Latifi crashed at turn 14, Lewis Hamilton was more than 10 seconds ahead of Max Verstappen.

Subsequently, safety cars were produced at race control and track crews cleaned up the damaged Williams car after race director Michael Massey initially said no car would be allowed to untie itself. Massey then announced that the snare car between Hamilton and Verstappen could be unwrapped, and only those five people could, but there were a total of eight snare cars.

Verstappen used the new soft tyres to easily attack Hamilton, loaded with the old hard tyres, taking the lead, winning the race and the drivers' championship.

Rosberg said Marcy had been wronged and it was not the first time this season for the Australian that he faced strong opposition no matter what decision he made.

The 2016 world champion said: "According to the regulations, it takes another lap to start the race, so he (Marsi) didn't follow the rules on a lot of things. But you have to sympathize with him, the whole world is watching him, and he has to make a decision in 15 seconds. It was the last lap of the last race of the 2021 season, the most extreme and stressful situation in the world, and he made his decision, which gave us a wonderful game and an incredible ending. Michael's job this year is so difficult to cope with, he needs support this winter, the framework and guidelines of the event need to be perfected, and next year we should be in a better position. ”
