The FIA issued a statement in response to rumors about Massy

A BBC report said the Fia is planning a structural change that would result in the role of race director being shared among several people, with Peter Bayer, the new head of FIA F1, hinting that a change could be made.

Peter Beyer said: "Michael has done a great job in many ways, but there is also the possibility of a new event director. ”

But now the FIA responds that their findings have yet to produce concrete results, quelling any rumours that Massy is about to lose his job.

The F1 governing body added that they would publish the results of the internal investigation according to the original schedule, which will be announced at the next F1 committee meeting in mid-February.

At this stage, a decision has not yet been made on the results of a detailed analysis of the events at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the statement reads. As previously announced, the results of this detailed analysis will be announced at an F1 committee meeting in London after public discussions with all F1 drivers on 14 February, and will eventually have to be approved at the World Council of Motor Sport meeting in Bahrain on 18 March under the authority of FIA President Mohammed bin Surayem.

Marcy's future as race director has been a hot topic since the farce in Abu Dhabi, as commentators and former drivers have made predictions about the FIA's findings, with Martin Blundell arguing that Massi could be a "victim".

Critics of the Australian said he did not follow the FIA precedent of allowing all snare cars to pass through safety cars, and only those between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton were allowed to pass through safety cars.
