A few days ago, we learned from the official of GAC Group that GAC Capital, a subsidiary of GAC Group, will invest 30 million US dollars (about 190 million yuan) in WeRide Inc. Wenyuan Zhixing to jointly promote the research and development and manufacturing of Robotaxi front-loading mass production models.
In the next few years, the two sides plan to gradually establish a fleet of tens of thousands of Robotaxi vehicles, with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as the core to radiate to the whole country, and launch safe, economical and green autonomous driving services for the public. Through this cooperation, GAC Group and Wenyuan Zhixing will give full play to their respective advantages and layouts, and work together to build a perfect Robotaxi ecological network, covering all aspects of technology, products and commercialization.
GAC Group also has an advanced fully redundant (can be used for fully unmanned) vehicle platform and GAC Xingling electronic and electrical architecture, which can further enhance the safety and stability of fully unmanned vehicle operation. Wenyuan Zhixing is an innovation pioneer in China's Robotaxi mobility market, with leading technology, products and operational services.
In 2018, Wenyuan Zhixing and GAC Group jointly launched China's first L4 self-driving taxi. At the end of November 2019, Wenyuan Zhixing launched China's first robotaxi commercial service open to the public in Guangzhou, covering more than 144 square kilometers of urban open roads in Huangpu District and Guangzhou Development Zone, and has been running for more than two years without any active liability accidents.
In addition, GAC Passenger Vehicles will implement the A09 model project with a total investment of CNY 686.42 million. There is currently no valid information about the "A09" and we will continue to monitor it.
