A locust leaf

It's the most beautiful life in the world.

The most rare, the most precious piece,

And it is the most sad, the most tearful piece,

Thin, dry, pale gray-yellow locust leaves.

Forgot it was in Jiangnan, Jiangbei,

In which city, in which garden, it was picked up.

Sandwiched in an ancient book of poems,

For many years, there was not even a slight damage.

Cicada-winged locust leaves that gently slip down,

When you look closely, you are still stained with the dirt of those homelands.

Oh, ah, what year, month and day

Only then can I return to your arms

Go and enjoy one of the most enjoyable in the world

Season with a faint scent of locust flowers? ......

About the author: Ji Xian (1913 ~ July 22, 2013), one of the three elders of the Taiwanese poetry scene (the other two are Qin Zihao and Zhong Dingwen), enjoys a high reputation in the Taiwanese poetry circle. Ji Xian is not only extremely creative, but also very successful in theory. He was an advocate of modernist poetry, advocating the writing of poems of "master knowledge", emphasizing "horizontal transplantation". The poetry is bright, good at mockery, and playful. His poems are extremely charming and innovative, which has been imitated by later scholars and has become a banner for the poetry scene in Taiwan. In 1953, he founded the quarterly magazine "Modern Poetry" and initiated the establishment of the Modern Poetry Society, which caused a controversy about modern poetry in the poetry circles of Taiwan.
