Musk said the plan is also important for traveling to Mars. Carbon dioxide is the main component of the Martian atmosphere.

The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket uses liquid oxygen kerosene propellant, while the next generation of fully reusable transport system "Starship", which is under development, is used for travel to Mars and the moon, using the Raptor liquid oxygen methane engine. However, Musk was previously worried about the production of the Raptor engine, and said harshly that the production crisis of the Starship engine could lead to the risk of SpaceX bankruptcy.
