Mr. Zhongshan was a great man of a generation who led the Xinhai Revolution, overthrew the feudal monarchy, and established the Republic of China. He has made indelible merits for the cause of the revolution.
Mr. Nakayama was able to achieve such a great feat, which was inseparable from the support of his original wife, who supported him in a unique way to realize his great revolutionary ambitions. This enabled Zhongshan to reduce his family's worries and concentrate his spirit on the revolutionary cause.
So, who is Mr. Nakayama's original wife? How did she end up?
Mr. Zhongshan's original wife was named Lu Muzhen.
Lu Muzhen was born on July 30, 1867, and his father, Lu Yaoxian, and Sun Mei were both Honolulu overseas Chinese. Sun Mei is the brother of Mr. Zhongshan.
Lu Yaoxian's hometown is only a few miles away from Mr. Zhongshan's hometown of Cuiheng Village. Lu Yaoxian became rich in business in his early years, but unfortunately he died of illness very early, and his family's wealth gradually declined. Lu Muzhen is the eldest daughter of Lu Yaoxian.
Lu Muzhen has been diligent since childhood, and is known for filial piety to elders in the township, especially good at female red. When she grew up, although she was short in stature, dark in skin, had her feet tied since childhood, and her appearance was plain, she was an old-fashioned woman with an introverted personality, but she was simple and kind, honoring the virtuous and virtuous, and smelling in the township party.
In 1885, Sun Mei saw that his brother was stubborn and difficult to discipline, and he thought that marriage was a good strategy for restraining his brother. So, he sent a sum of money home, in addition to providing for his brother's study, he hoped that his parents would marry his brother as soon as possible.
Mr. Zhongshan's mother, Mrs. Yang, happened to have a sister married in Shanggongdu Township, Xiangshan County, and this sister thought that Lu Yaoxian's daughter Lu Muzhen was a good match for Mr. Zhongshan, so she tried to broker the marriage.
"The order of his parents, the words of a matchmaker", Mr. Zhongshan is a great filial piety, and at the same time, he does not regard marriage as important as the anti-Qing revolution, so he agrees to this marriage.
On May 26, 1885, 18-year-old Lu Muzhen married 19-year-old Mr. Nakayama.
After marriage, at the beginning, the feelings of the husband and wife were not deep. But as time passed, Zhongshan deepened his understanding of Lu Muzhen and was gradually moved by her filial piety, diligence and virtuousness.
Every time Mr. Zhongshan came home, Lu Muzhen always sewed a new set of clothes and shoes and socks for him. Mr. Zhongshan's mother, Mrs. Yang, was also dressed mostly by Lu Muzhen's hand.
Once, Mr. Nakayama returned to his hometown and warmly took a pastor to live in his home. Mr. Nakayama's parents have always strongly opposed their son's belief in pastors. Now, when he saw his son take the pastor to live in his home, he immediately expressed his dissatisfaction.
At this time, Lu Muzhen, who did not read much and adhered to tradition, was not happy to see her in-laws, but she thought that the priest was a guest invited by her husband, so she should treat her with courtesy, so she did everything she could to persuade her in-laws and warmly entertain the pastor. When the pastor left, he praised Lu Muzhen.
This made Mr. Nakayama very moved.
In the spring of 1888, when Mr. Zhongshan's father, Sun Da, was seriously ill and died, Mr. Zhongshan and his eldest brother returned to their hometown to visit their father, and saw Lu Muzhen not leaving his father before his father collapsed, personally serving soup medicine. In this regard, Mr. Nakayama was touched again.
After that, after a long period of mutual understanding between the two, the feelings of husband and wife gradually grew, and they became more and more harmonious.
On October 20, 1891, six years after Lu Muzhen and Zhongshan were married, his son Sun Ke was born in Cuiheng Village.
In 1894, Lu Muzhen and Sun Jiao, the eldest daughter of Zhongshan, were born in Cuiheng Village.
On November 12, 1896, Lu Muzhen gave birth to his next daughter, Sun Wan.
Although Lu Muzhen did not understand the revolution her husband was engaged in, nor could she sing with her husband, she never obstructed her husband's revolutionary words and deeds, and she silently supported her husband in another way to realize his great revolutionary ambitions.
Mr. Zhongshan has been running for revolution at home and abroad for many years, and it is difficult to take care of his family. Therefore, Lu Muzhen silently endured the huge pressure and heavy housework of family life, she assumed the responsibility of raising children, and filial piety served her in-laws and aunts, taking care of the life of her aunt Cheng. She enabled Zhongshan to reduce the worries of his family and concentrate his spirit on the revolutionary cause.
Whenever zhongshan, who was wandering away, asked people from his hometown about his family situation, the people of his hometown unanimously praised Lu Muzhen's virtues.
On July 19, 1910, Mrs. Yang died, and Lu Muzhen, as a woman and Taoist family, took care of the aftermath for her mother-in-law in economic difficulties.
After the success of the Xinhai Revolution, mr. Nakayama was elected provisional president of the Republic of China on December 29, 1911.
On February 15, 1912, Lu Muzhen came to Songhu with two daughters, Sun Fei and Sun Wan, and niece Sun Shunxia, and was warmly welcomed by Chen Qimei, the governor of the Shanghai Army, and the members of the League. Everyone praised Lu Muzhen as the "mother of the Republic of China".
For her husband's revolutionary cause, Lu Muzhen has always silently supported, but cannot share. She has always felt sad because she is not highly educated, cannot assist Zhongshan in her work, and has not been around him for a long time. She had offered to ask Zhongshan to take a concubine, but at that time Zhongshan insisted on not agreeing.
Later, when the revolution was frustrated, Mr. Nakayama went to Japan, where he fell in love with Song Yaoru's second daughter.
Later, in September 1915, Mr. Nakayama sent someone to pick up Lu Muzhen to Japan to discuss divorce.
After Lu Muzhen arrived in Tokyo, Japan, she and her husband talked in secret for a long time. After that, Lu Muzhen promised to divorce Zhongshan.
At that time, In front of Hu Hanmin and many other revolutionaries, Lu Muzhen said slowly, word by word: "Sir is running for the revolution, physically and mentally exhausted, and urgently needs someone to take care of his life." There are now people who are willing to take care of Mr. Life and contribute to His activities. Very good. I'm willing to be the best of it. ”
Lu Muzhen said, held out the thumb of his right hand, and squarely stamped his handprint on the divorce book.
After the divorce, Lu Muzhen returned to Cuiheng Village and never saw Mr. Zhongshan again.
When Mr. Zhongshan passed away, no one invited Lu Muzhen to attend the farewell ceremony, and Lu Muzhen, who was full of grief, set up a spiritual hall at home to serve his husband.
Later, Lu Muzhen took her daughter to settle in Macau, China. Resides at 1 Vincent Street, Macau.
On September 7, 1952, Lu Muzhen died at the age of 86 and was buried in the Old Western Cemetery in Macau.
