However, compared with Kangxi's Wenzhi martial arts, people do not seem to know much about his malaria. Although Kangxi was a noble son of heaven, he was also an ordinary flesh under the golden clothes and jade food, and he also suffered from infectious diseases.
And when the seriously ill Kangxi was cured by foreigners, he issued an extremely wrong order, and did not dare to act in the TV series! What exactly is the command? Let's move on.
First, let's talk about Kangxi.
According to the "Draft History of the Qing Dynasty, Volume 214, Liechuan I, And concubines", in the spring of the eleventh year of Shunzhi, the concubines asked for peace in the palace of the empress dowager, and they would come out, and the clothes were like a dragon, and the empress dowager asked, knowing that there was a concubine, and said that the close attendant said: "The emperor of Shunzhi really has Si Xiang, and the present concubine also has it, and the birth of a child will be blessed." "March Pengshen, Saint Zusheng."
The vision of Kangxi at his birth also played a certain role in fueling his future ascension to the throne.
According to the "Qing History Manuscript , Volume 6 , Benji 6 , Shengzu I " , " In the eighteenth year of Shunzhi , the first month of the first month , Shizu Collapsed , the emperor took the throne , at the age of eight , changed to Yuan Kangxi.
He became emperor at the age of eight, and Kangxi began his decades-long career as emperor.
By 1693, the Kangxi Emperor was 39 years old, and it was in the summer of that year that the Kangxi Emperor was suffering from malaria.
This is because of the Ping San Fan Rebellion, the Eight Banner Soldiers went deep into the malaria-endemic area in the south, and brought back the malaria parasite, first to the mosquitoes, and then spread in the city of Beijing, even Kangxi was not spared.
At that time, the disease was called "cold fever". Although it was a sweltering heat, the Kangxi Emperor continued to fight the Cold War, and his lips were purple, his eye sockets were sunken, and his body twitched at times, and his whole body trembled at times.
In ancient times, people were helpless against malaria, a contagious disease, and even thought that it was a disaster descended on mankind by God, and the ancient Indians called this disease the "king of disease", and they could only wait for death after the disease.
However, no one would give up an emperor.
All the imperial doctors forgot to eat and sleep, went through the medical books, and searched for ancient recipes. Finally, someone finally found Fang Zi in a famous book of Chinese medicine, "The Essentials of the Golden Plateau". The pills were quickly made, and after repeated adjustments by the imperial doctor, even the artemisia annua was used, but it still had no effect, the imperial doctors were discouraged, and Kangxi was about to swallow.
Four years before the Kangxi Emperor fell ill with malaria, King Louis XIV of France sent five missionaries to China, and when the news of the Kangxi Emperor's malaria came out, two missionaries came to beijing to offer the Kangxi Emperor the miracle medicine for the treatment of malaria in Europe.
The two missionaries told the Kangxi Emperor that the elixir he had offered was called Cinchona Cream, which would heal him. However, at first, the imperial doctors were pedantic, and they firmly opposed letting the Kangxi Emperor take this unknown medicine.
However, forced by helplessness, the imperial doctors finally decided to let a malaria patient try the drug first, and as a result, the patient quickly recovered, so they let Kangxi also take the medicine. Sure enough, Kangxi recovered quickly with the help of Western medicine. I heard the preacher say that whenever summer came in France, the king distributed the medicine so as not to cause the plague.
The use of cinchona cream to cure Kangxi malaria was also written by a French missionary, Bai Jin, in his book "Biography of the Kangxi Emperor", which was greatly shown off.
After these things, Kangxi became interested in Western medicine from then on, and also opened a chemistry laboratory in the imperial palace, ordering two French missionaries, Bai Jin and Zhang Cheng, to conduct research.
According to the Royal Pharmacopoeia, Bai Jin produced western medicine preparations such as desiccants and syrup preparations.
Since malaria was cured, the Kangxi Emperor rewarded him for his deeds, and he personally selected a house to reward the missionaries and allowed them to preach. But then an order from Kangxi revealed the truth about the fall of the Qing Dynasty.
Since even the emperor would suffer from malaria, ordinary people could not avoid it.
Therefore, Kangxi should vigorously promote this Western medicine so that those who are sick will be spared from malaria. But the Kangxi Emperor did not do so. He ordered the missionaries: "This kind of magic medicine and the method of making it must not be passed on to the people of the Qing Dynasty."
Kangxi found that the scholarship of foreigners was indeed great, and taking this small pill was enough to subvert the three views. But Kangxi "suddenly realized", these Western scholarships represented by medicine, such as mathematics, philosophy and astronomy, if the Chinese people learned, then wouldn't the world be chaotic?
Kangxi's words accidentally exposed the essence of their Great Qing Dynasty.
For a regime ruled by fools, anything that would open up the people's wisdom and make the people's intellectual progress was a threat to Kangxi, so he did not want the people to understand these things.
The Qing Dynasty was not a regime for the people, it existed only for its own ruling interests, and it was precisely because of this that the Qing Dynasty would stop moving forward.
