The device integrates IMRT (intensity-modulated conformal radiotherapy), IGRT (image-guided intensity-modulated conformal radiotherapy), DGRT (dose-guided intensity-modulated conformal radiotherapy) in one, is the world's leading level of tumor radiation therapy equipment, can carry out efficient and accurate treatment of malignant tumor patients, known as the "most exciting development" in the history of tumor treatment.
After the system is put into use, the amount of radiation therapy completed by Shenzhen People's Hospital every day will be increased to about 300 person-times, and the annual radiation therapy capacity will be increased to more than 70,000 minutes, which can provide radiation therapy services for about 2,000-2,500 patients, and the time for patients to make appointments for treatment will be shortened from the original 7 working days to 5 working days.
Generally speaking, after the traditional three major means of surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, the cure rate of malignant tumors can reach 55%, of which radiotherapy contributes to 40%. Compared with traditional radiotherapy equipment, TOMO has more significant advantages.
The device adopts an image-guided radiotherapy system with irradiation homologous to CT, and the imaging accuracy is much higher than that of conventional accelerators, and its unique Fan Beam (Fan Beam) megavolt CT image quality is also significantly better than that of the conventional accelerator Cone Beam kV CT image quality, ensuring the dual high accuracy of the treatment plan in position and dose during each treatment of the patient.
At the same time, TOMO can irradiate multiple tumor lesions at once, and the maximum irradiation range can be extended to 135cm, which is suitable for the treatment of large tumor lesions.
