IT Home December 13 news, according to South Korean media TheElec reported that Samsung Group announced on December 9 that in the recent group restructuring, 198 young and middle-aged executives have been promoted, aged between 30-40 years old, most of whom are vice presidents or executive vice presidents. Samsung said it hopes to accelerate the group's transformation, build a new business culture, and develop young and promising executives.
The South Korean tech giant also said that in this year's reshuffle, 17 women or foreigners have been promoted to senior executive positions, the largest number of women and foreigners in such positions in history. Samsung also announced a promotion to software management across the business unit.

IT House learned that Samsung had previously announced changes to the group's CEO and president. In addition, Samsung announced on December 7 that it will merge its mobile and consumer electronics businesses with a new division called Set Division.
Han Jong-hee, who was promoted from Samsung's TV research and development team, will succeed previous co-CEOs Dongjin Koh and Hyunsuk Kim, who were in charge of the mobile and consumer electronics divisions, respectively. Han Jong-hee, 59, a veteran of Samsung's TV business, will lead the newly formed Set Division. Kyung Kye-hyun will lead the company's Equipment Solutions division.
