In 2002, a mythological film "The Lord of the Rings" was screened around the world, and as the heroes drove small boats slowly along the river, you could see the huge statues in the distance gradually approaching the visual impact, which was particularly shocking and indescribable.

The statue in the film mentioned above was inspired by the Colossus of the Sun God in Rhode Island more than 2,000 years ago, when Rhode Island was an important economic and political center of the Western world, and it was located at the junction of the Sea of Love and the Mediterranean Sea, and its geographical location was very dangerous. Port Rhodes was built around 400 BC. But from the day it was built, Rhode Island was in a state of war for many years, and the Rhode Islanders resisted until they repelled the enemy again and again, and finally the Rhode Island people won a complete victory.

To celebrate the victory, rhode islanders built a huge statue out of the enemy's bronze weapons. After 12 years of construction, the Rhode Island Colossus was completed in 282 BC. The entire colossus is 33 meters high, and one toe requires two people to hug it, it is built of marble and wrapped in bronze. Built on the port of Rhodes to the Mediterranean Sea, the colossus is depicted as a bronze giant holding a torch in his hand and stepping on both sides of the river. The torch he holds in his hand acts as a beacon, working all night to navigate passing ships. But 56 years later, a sudden earthquake broke the great colossus from its knees and has never stood up again. The colossus lay on the original site for nearly a thousand years, and then its whereabouts are unknown.
