In the War of Liberation, Su Yu achieved unparalleled military achievements. He commanded the battles of Subei, Lunan, Laiwu, Taimeng, menglianggu and other battles, and annihilated a large number of living forces of the nationalist army. In particular, in the Battle of Menglianggu, Su Yu, with the spirit of "taking the first rank of general in a million troops", annihilated the most elite reorganized 74th Division of the Nationalist Army and killed the division commander Zhang Lingfu, which is a classic.
