"Zhiqing Love" train encounter ~ ~ ~ (Chen Zhiqiang)

In the autumn of 1975, I boarded a train back to Yunnan after my shanghai holiday was full. Sitting next to me was a Shanghainese female intellectual, who, like me, returned to Yunnan after visiting relatives. I talked to her after the train started. Coincidentally, she is also a Zhiqing who went to the countryside in Mengla, the difference is that I am a Zhiqing of the Water Conservancy Corps, and she is a Zhiqing of the Mengla Construction Corps Farm. Her company was not far from my original company. The girl's name is Chang Hong, she looks white and fat, and her eyes are somewhat short-sighted. The train from Shanghai to Kunming takes 2 days and 3 nights, the train keeps running, and the two of us keep talking. Talking about the books they had read, talking about literary masterpieces, I talked about Hugo's famous books "Les Misérables" and "Ninety-Three Years" that I was most familiar with, and she talked about Balzac's "The Tall Old Man" and "Eugenie" that she loved to read. Grande, speaking of Grande, who regards wealth as his destiny, both laughed. We talked about interesting things in our respective companies and about our views on life in society, and the two of us talked very speculatively. It was dark, the train was rumbling forward in the darkness, the two of us also said that we were tired, we were seats for two people, after a humble concession, I leaned against the window and dozed off on the small table, chang hong slept behind me. The autumn night was a little cold, Chang Hong was wearing a skirt, and I took off my coat to cover her body and spent the first night. The next day she sat during the day and I slept down. Everyone took turns sleeping. After 3 days, the two of us have become good friends who talk about everything. When the train arrived in Kunming, I still had to go to a friend's house in Kunming, so the two left each other's mailing addresses and broke up to say goodbye.

Immediately after returning to Mengla, we began to communicate. Previously, I had been transferred to teach in yao district on the mountain, and her company was located in Mengwan in Damzi, and we could only communicate by writing letters. Every week you come with a letter, I go with a letter. In a year, the two only met once in the county, because they were all classmates next to them, and they were not embarrassed to talk more, so they talked briefly and went their separate ways. Although they always look forward to each other's letters, the letters of the two are limited to work and life, and never involve love and feelings. Both have their feelings hidden in their hearts.

The hard, monotonous and lonely life of Zhiqing is full of happiness because of Chang Hong's letter. The happiest thing in life every day is to see the postman send Changhong's letter and read Changhong's letter over and over again. When I went to the commune after school, I first went to the post and telecommunications office and asked the elder Nie if he had any letter from me. A year passed quickly, and because my father in Shanghai was seriously ill, I was ready to return to Shanghai to visit, and before I left, I also wanted to clarify my relationship with Chang Hong. I went to write to her to go back to Shanghai with me, and then to my house. She didn't reply for a long week, so I went back to Shanghai myself.

After living in Shanghai for a month, he returned to Mengla County. Before returning to the commune, I went to my original company to meet my classmates. Coincidentally, the deputy company commander of the current company was transferred from Chang Hong's company not long ago. I asked him about Chang Hong. The deputy company commander looked at me with a suspicious look and said, "Chang Hong has a boyfriend, and is a hygienist of the company." Needless to say, I was like someone smacked on the top of my head, disappointed and a little resentful.

Back at Sharen Primary School in Yao District, Yan Wenqi, a private teacher of the Dai ethnic group, handed me a thick stack of letters, all written by Chang Hong. In addition to explaining to me why I didn't respond in time, the hygienist who pursued her was unrequited love and not her boyfriend. A month passed and I didn't write back. During this period, she wrote to me twice a week to confess her feelings for me, and two months later, I still did not reply. Chang Hong's letter began to be less, and the last letter clipped a picture, which was 2 giant pandas drawn by Chang Hong himself, under a few bamboo trees, a slightly smaller one snuggled next to the big panda.

That's how my first relationship ended. It was only a year later that I began to reflect seriously on myself. I was so wrong that I shouldn't have given up on my first relationship so easily. My requirements for feelings are too harsh, Chang Hong has a boyfriend and what happened, she has the right to choose her favorite boyfriend. Men have the right to choose who to choose, and women should have that right. My first love was ruined by myself. She was the first girlfriend I ever liked. For more than 30 years, I have not forgotten this white, chubby girl with myopic eyes.

Coincidentally, my current wife and Chang Hong have many similarities. Both looked white and fat, both were short-sighted, and their homes were not far apart. One lives on Jianguo West Road and one lives on Ruijin 2nd Road. Both graduated from Luwan Secondary School. The difference is that Changhong is supple and the wife has more personality.

The first time I met my wife, I liked it, was it because my wife looked like Changhong, and I still had the shadow of Changhong in my heart.
