Xiamen, 4 Dec (Xinhua) -- On December 4, the 2021 cross-strait peace angel exchange activity with the theme of "Science and Technology Run Children's Hearts and Join Hands to Create the Future" kicked off in The Jimei District of Xiamen City. Fifteen pairs of mainland and Taiwanese primary school students were paired up, ate and lived together, and conducted two-day study and exchange activities.
According to reports, unlike the previous "mutual visits and exchanges" model, this year's exchange activities are mainly based on Xiamen's permanent small Taiwan compatriots and mainland primary school students. During the event, under the leadership of the instructor, they will carry out research and study activities at bases such as Chengyi Science and Technology Exploration Center, Xiamen Lingling International Circus City, and Zhengxin Cultural Center. Through the immersive experience of aerospace, deep-sea exploration and artificial intelligence, we will understand the rapid development of aerospace science and technology in the motherland, and cultivate the children's teamwork spirit through outdoor expansion activities.

Taiwanese children Yan Chengxu and Yan Chenglin, who are studying at Xiamen Qiao Ying Primary School, are a pair of dragon and phoenix brothers and sisters, and they performed street dance at the opening ceremony of the camp.
"We're very interested in space technology, and when I grow up I want to be a pilot." Brother Yan Chengxu said, "We also hope to make good friends through this activity." ”
Su Su, vice president of the Fujian Provincial Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, said in his speech at the opening ceremony that although the form of the activity has been changing, what has not changed is the common bloodline, common culture, common connection, and common vision of the "little angels of peace" on both sides of the strait; it is hoped that in this activity, the children can open their hearts, devote themselves wholeheartedly, learn together, help each other, become good partners who are intimate and seamless, and can maintain contact and promote each other in the future, and become good friends who will witness growth throughout their lives.

As one of the brand projects of the All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, since 1992, with the joint efforts of all walks of life on both sides of the strait, the cross-strait peace little angel exchange activities have been successfully held for 16 sessions, and more than 2,300 little angels on both sides of the strait have been directly involved, involving more than 2,000 families. The event was co-sponsored by the All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, the Fujian Provincial Federation of Taiwan, and the Xiamen Municipal Federation of Taiwan, hosted by the Cross-Strait Youth New Media Cultural and Creative Exchange Base (Jimei District Oyster Cultural and Creative Base), and co-organized by the Xiamen Jimei District Cross-Strait Integration and Development Center.
