In Shanghai, there is a group of community education volunteers. They are rooted in the grassroots, ranging from ordinary retired workers and teacher cadres to school students and working white-collar workers. With their respective professional expertise, they actively devote themselves to the cause of lifelong education, care for special groups, help lifelong learning, and provide various types of education services such as party history education, legal popularization, health lectures, and humanistic guidance for the public free of charge.
In order to better stimulate the enthusiasm of the majority of community education volunteers and build an effective carrier for promoting positive social energy, the Shanghai Community Education Volunteer Style Display Activity with the theme of "Volunteer Service Community Travel, Everyone is Soft Power" was held this afternoon at the Hongkou Jiaxing Road Street Community Cultural Center.
Up to now, Shanghai has a team of more than 60,000 community education assistance volunteers, of which the number of registered volunteers has expanded to more than 11,000 people, and this year two volunteer service workstations have been added to Shanghai Open University and Shanghai Dianji University, basically building a service network covering the whole city with "1 corps + 6 detachments + 43 workstations + 228 service points". Volunteer service has become an important part of Shanghai's healthy, steady and sustainable development, and a new engine for promoting the construction of Shanghai's learning city.
This year's Shanghai community education volunteer service project is full of flowers and distinctive characteristics, and each detachment and site promotes projects such as "Red Humanistic Walking", "Wisdom to Help the Elderly" service, "Community Health Lecture Tour" and other projects, so that citizens can widely participate in lifelong learning and learning for the whole people, continuously increase the sense of happiness and gain of life, and strive to create a good social atmosphere of "everyone is a volunteer, everyone is a soft power, and everyone shows soft power", adding bricks and tiles to enhance the soft power of the city.
At the event site, through stage performances, Ted speeches, group recitations and other forms, the charm and style of contemporary community education volunteers were fully demonstrated, reflecting Shanghai's rich lifelong learning culture. At the same time, the site also awarded and commended the units and individuals who won the honorary titles of "2021 Shanghai Community Education Most Beautiful Volunteer", "2021 Shanghai Community Education Outstanding Volunteer Service", "2021 Shanghai Community Education Excellent Volunteer Service Workstation", "2021 Shanghai Community Education Volunteer Service Brand Project" and other honorary titles.
