At the recently opened 19th Guangzhou Auto Show, GAC Group announced the specific targets of the "GLASS Green Net Plan". The goal of achieving carbon neutrality in the whole life cycle of products by 2050 (challenging 2045) is exactly 10 years ahead of the national target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.
GAC Group took the lead in proposing specific goals and measures to achieve carbon neutrality, and was at the forefront of the domestic automotive industry in terms of low-carbon travel and environmental protection, which fully reflected the company's high sense of social responsibility and mission.
Achieve carbon neutrality throughout the life cycle of products by 2050
From November 19th to 28th, the 19th Guangzhou International Auto Show was held in Pazhou, Guangzhou. Gac Group's six major brands, GAC Trumpchi, GAC Ean, GAC Honda, GAC Toyota, GAC FCA and GAC Mitsubishi, gathered at the No. 2.2 "GAC Pavilion" to bring a wealth of electrified and intelligent models to help GAC achieve its goal of "carbon neutrality".
On the morning of November 19, GAC Group, together with its subsidiaries GAC Trumpchi and GAC Aean, held a press conference at the booth. Feng Xingya Group, General Manager of GAC Group, announced the specific goals and measures of GAC GLASS's "Green Net Plan".
GAC Group announced that it will achieve carbon neutrality of its product life cycle by 2050 (challenge 2045). In 2023, GAC Aeon will be built into GAC's first zero-carbon plant. In 2025, the sales volume of self-owned brand new energy vehicles will account for 50%, the sales of new energy vehicles of the whole group will account for 50% in 2030, and GAC Trumpchi will achieve hybridization of all models in 2025 and 60% of hybrid sales in 2030.

A number of measures have been superimposed to ensure that the goal of carbon neutrality has been achieved
Feng Xingya said that in order to achieve the ambitious goal of carbon neutrality of the whole life cycle of products by 2050, GAC Group actively explores solutions, thinking about the whole link from research and development, production and consumer use, and proposing three major measures at the same time.
The first is full-cycle management. Systematically promote the management of carbon emissions in the whole chain from R&D to production, from purchase to use and recycling. In the use link, jointly carry out consumer "carbon reduction" activities, explore the establishment of carbon accounts for automobile consumers, start from corporate incentives, and gradually realize the realization of carbon reduction transactions for individual consumers. In addition, we will continue to carry out public welfare activities such as afforestation, and promote the research and application of carbon sink development methods such as carbon capture technology.
The second is to build its subsidiary, GAC Aian, into GAC's first zero-carbon plant. In 2023, we will achieve zero carbon emissions and build a zero-carbon vehicle industrial park based on the GAC Zhilian New Energy Automobile Industrial Park.
The third is to further increase the proportion of intelligent networked new energy vehicles and energy-saving vehicles. The two routes of "intelligence + electrification" and "intelligence + hybridization" develop synchronously, and GAC Trumpchi is fully hybridized, achieving 50% of the sales of new energy vehicles of its own brands in 2025 and 50% of new energy vehicles in 2030; continue to carry out the development of alternative fuel models including hydrogen energy power.
GAC Group believes that the key to low-carbon carbon reduction in the whole life cycle of automotive products is in the use of the link. This phase accounts for more than 70% of total emissions. Therefore, it is crucial to vigorously promote the electrification of automobiles and solve the pain points of the three major industries of new energy vehicles.
Feng Xingya pointed out that in the face of the three major industry pain points of new energy vehicle endurance, safety and charging, GAC Group solved the pain points of the mileage in the first phase (before 2019). In the second phase (2019-2021), the pain points of battery safety are solved through unique magazine battery system security technology. At present, we are entering the third stage of establishing an energy ecology and solving the convenience of charging.
In order to solve the problem of consumer charging convenience, the third phase of GAC Group will focus on promoting the "2 Energy Action" based on super fast charging technology and power exchange technology. The goal of this action is to realize that the battery can be bought or rented, rechargeable and exchangeable, slow charging and fast charging, large or small capacity, long or short mileage, electricity can be bought, electricity can be sold, and recyclable and cascaded utilization.
During this year's National Day holiday, some electric car owners complained that they queued up for three hours in the highway service area and charged 1 hour of electricity. At present, the number of domestic electric vehicles is still very low, and the problem of charging difficulties is not prominent. When the number of electric vehicles increases significantly, the difficulty of charging will become a serious and common problem, which will affect the production and consumption of electric vehicles.
"2 Energy Action" is an important decision made by GAC Group to take precautions, focus on the rapid development of electric vehicles in the future, and lay out the long-term future of low-carbon automobile life. It has a positive leading role in the industry.
Feng Xingya said that the future development of new energy vehicles of GAC Group must be supported by two major technologies: ultra-fast charging technology and power exchange technology. GAC Aean's new interchangeable model will also enter the market in 2023.
In addition, GAC Group also released two new concept cars, the Smart Share flagship electric concept coupe TIME and the new potential energy pioneer concept car EMKOO, which continuously strengthened the product layout of the simultaneous development of the two routes of "intelligence + electrification" and "intelligence + electrification" under the background of "double carbon".

As a pure electric vehicle brand of GAC Group, GAC Aegon is shouldering the heavy responsibility of achieving the Group's goal of carbon neutrality. Gu Huinan, general manager of GAC Aeon, said that GAC Aeon will continue to lead in EV and ICV, the self-developed battery cell production line will be completed at the end of next year, and the sponge silicon anode chip battery technology will achieve independent mass production. GAC Pure Electric Exclusive Platform GEP will evolve to the third generation, combined with GAC Xingling electronic and electrical architecture X-Soul, in 2023 to launch the world's leading new products, one step ahead of the new era of software-defined cars, and achieve L4 autonomous driving. Zhang Yuesai, general manager of GAC Passenger Vehicles, said that GAC Trumpchi will take the "Green Net Plan" as the guide, introduce green electricity and combine the self-built super photovoltaic power generation system, and build a digital intelligent manufacturing factory with the goal of "zero carbon". In terms of products, in the future, we will focus on intelligent and hybridization (ICV+XEV) and fully develop hybrid technology. Guangqi Honda brought new electrification and intelligent achievements, as well as a variety of star models to shine at the exhibition, the new pure electric strategic model - Honda brand e: NP1 was officially released. Zheng Heng, executive deputy general manager of GUANGC Honda, said that in order to achieve carbon neutrality, all models sold by GAC Honda after 2030 are hybrid, plug-in hybrid and pure electric vehicle models. In the next five years, GUANGC Honda will launch five pure electric vehicle models. In 2024, a new electrification plant will also be completed at GUANGC Honda.
Wen Dali, executive deputy general manager of GAC Toyota, said at the auto show press conference that in order to help achieve the goal of "double carbon", GAC Toyota will accelerate the promotion of the all-round electrification strategy, dual-engine hybrid and pure electric dual-route development. GAC Toyota will introduce the bZ Pure Electric SUV, the first model of the bZ Pure Electric Exclusive Series, and plans to launch it next year. GAC Toyota will take the bZ4X as a starting point to comprehensively expand its electrification lineup, and plans to achieve nearly 60% of electrified model sales by 2025 and 100% by 2035.
At this year's Guangzhou Auto Show, GAC Mitsubishi's new pure electric SUV Attuco debuted and opened pre-sale. Atuka is the first new energy cooperation model between GAC Group and Mitsubishi Motors, and the launch of Atuka marks the official arrival of the era of GAC-Mitsubishi electrification. (End)
