The commemorative album from 69 years ago bears witness to the history of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea
On November 23, Jimu News reporters followed the staff of the Wuhan Municipal Archives to the Changchun Community on Xinwan Road in Jianghan District, Wuhan City, and at the home of Liao Caixia's mother, Geng Yuhua, Liao Caixia, her brother Liao Donghu, and her mother Geng Yuhua told reporters about the family's treasured commemorative album of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea and the history of the good news of meritorious service.
Liao Caixia told reporters that her father, Liao Liugen, was a former soldier who participated in the Liberation War, and in 1951 he went to Korea to participate in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and fought in the Battle of Shangganling. The archives donated this time are all the relics of my father's life, including my father's awards when he was a soldier, commemorative albums, old photos, etc.
Among the historical materials donated to the archives, the most precious is a commemorative book related to the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, which reads "Commemorative Album celebrating the second anniversary of the Chinese Volunteer Army's departure abroad", and the money written that the Chinese people went to the DPRK condolence group to pay tribute to the people, the time of October 1952.
After searching for historical materials, the staff of the Wuhan Municipal Archives introduced that during the period of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, the Chinese people went to the DPRK to offer condolences three times, the first time to the DPRK was from March 12 to the end of May 1951, the second to the DPRK was from September 18 to December 5, 1952, and the third visit to the DPRK was organized under the circumstances of achieving the Korean Armistice and the victory in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and went to the DPRK on October 4, 1953, and returned to Beijing on December 18, 1953.
The second visit of the Chinese people's condolence group to the DPRK was the largest of the three condolence activities. The condolence group repeatedly passed through the enemy's artillery blockade line and arrived at the Daofeng Mountain Hero Battalion, the Ma Liang Mountain Hero Company, the "38th Line" Sharp Knife Hero Company, the Niujiaofeng Hero Company, and other units to offer condolences and performances. Shortly after this condolence, the Battle of Shangganling broke out.
Liao Caixia told reporters that her father died in 2003, and they also occasionally heard their father talk about some of the experiences of fighting wars, and he rarely talked about how individuals on the battlefield heroically killed the enemy, but often mentioned his comrades-in-arms. The Jimu news reporter looked through this somewhat moldy commemorative book and saw that it posted old photos of Liao Liugen himself and many comrades-in-arms.
Speaking of Liao Liugen's experience in participating in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, Geng Yuhua could not hide his excitement: "Listening to him, shortly after the condolences at that time, the Battle of Shangganling began, and in that battle, his calf was injured, and a bullet remained in his leg. Liao Donghu told Jimu News that Liao Zukun was the uncle of his father Liao Liugen. Liao Donghu said that his father was brought up by his uncle Liao Zukun because he lost his parents since he was a child. My father's hometown was in Taihu Lake, Anhui Province, and this good news was sent to his hometown in Taihu Lake. Decades have passed, and the good news has been well preserved.
More than a decade ago, Liao Caixia and her brother Liao Donghu returned to their hometown to their hometown, and Liao Zukun's descendants handed over the good news to them. "When I saw this good news, it was quite memorable, so I framed it myself and installed the frame." Liao Caixia said that every time she saw the good news, she felt extremely proud and proud of her father's military career, and her father was an excellent soldier in the army.
The House of Glory came out of three generations of soldiers

In July 2011, Liao Donghu's son, Liao Zhaoqi, finished his junior college and saw that the school organized a propaganda campaign for college students to recruit soldiers, so he resolutely signed up for the army. At this point, the Liao family has walked out of three generations of soldiers. "My son went to become a soldier, in addition to being influenced by my father, he also realized my dream of becoming a soldier for me." Liao Donghu said happily.
One person becomes a soldier, and the whole family is glorious. At Liao Donghu's house, the "Glorious House" plaque was hung at the door. All members of the Liao family are honored as a military home. For many years, the family, whether in work or life, has set strict demands on themselves, followed liao liugen's teachings, and did not add trouble to the organization.
Over the years, the organization has been very caring for soldiers and their families, giving all kinds of care, but the 82-year-old Geng Yuhua rarely asked for it. "Now the party and the government are very preferential to military personnel and their families, and compared with the past, our current life is really very good." For his later life, Geng Yuhua was very content. Children and daughters rely on their own abilities to build a family, children and grandchildren are full of churches, and the elderly enjoy the joy of heaven.
"My son has now been in the army for 10 years, and he has made new achievements in the army, which has not lived up to his grandfather's expectations." Speaking of his son's experience growing up in the army, Liao Donghu's pride overflowed into words.

"Seeing this information, I thought that our family also has good news of meritorious service, and whether it can also be donated to the Wuhan Municipal Archives." Liao Caixia said. When the Wuhan Municipal Archives quickly sent staff to check the good news of the veteran's meritorious service, it found that the veteran's home still had a commemorative book celebrating the second anniversary of the Chinese Volunteer Army.

On November 23, the Wuhan Municipal Archives issued a donation certificate to Geng Yuhua and his family.
