The relationship between the art master Liu Haisu and the famous Chinese painter Wu Hufan is very good. Mr. Wu Hufan died early, but whenever Master Haisu talked about Wu Hufan with his friends, he still sighed and saw that he "did not forget his old friends".
First, the origin of family learning
In the memory of Master Haisu, Wu Hufan was extremely generous. He was from a famous family and was the grandson of Wu Dayi, a famous official in the late Qing Dynasty. Wu Dayi's leading troops to fight wars and run diplomacy is completely "layman", but the study of ancient Chinese culture is an authentic "insider". In his life, he loved to search for three generations of bronze ware, Zhong Ding Yi ware, mostly treasures.
His name "愙斋" is because he received a statue of "愙鼎", and he was very proud of it, so he took it as a name. Wu Da Li can write poetry and painting well, and he can write a very good seal, and those who obtain it are all treasures and hereditary treasures. He also studied the Jinshi script, and there is a surviving "Ancient Record of the Collection of The Collection of Sorrows".
2. Collect calligraphy and paintings
Wu Dayi's collection is rich in three generations of bronzes, and although there are similar paintings and calligraphy, there are not many collections. Some people say that Mr. Hu Fan's collection of calligraphy and paintings was handed down from his ancestors, which is not true. According to Master Haisu, Wu Hufan's collection of calligraphy and paintings was mainly collected by himself over the years and spent a lot of energy.
Because Liu and Wu have a very good friendship, every time they gain something, the two always like to borrow from each other. Sometimes they also exchange inscriptions on each other's collections, praise and chant, and make souvenirs. There are still many paintings in the collection of master Haisu's home that have Mr. Hu Fan's inscription.
Third, a thousand teases
Master Haisu once told an interesting story, Mr. Hu Fan has always praised himself for his good appreciation, but there are many fakes bought in his life. One year, Mr. Zhang Daqian accidentally got an ancient painting fragment, on which there was only a huge slope stone, Mr. Daqian added a sleeping ape to its blank space, with a vivid look, with a simple pen, and everyone who saw it thought that it was the Southern Song Dynasty Liang Kai's "Sleeping Ape Diagram".
Mr. Daqian asked a calligraphy and painting broker to sell to Mr. Hufan. Mr. Hu Fan did indeed buy it as a genuine work, and asked Mr. Ye Yuhu (Gong Qi) to write an inscription. Mr. Ye probably didn't see it either, and actually complimented him a few times. Afterwards, Mr. Daqian was really happy for a while as a joke about the information.
Fourth, Madame can be good at poetry and painting
Although Mr. Hu Fan has bought some fake paintings, after all, the real ones have been seen more and received more. He observes day and night, learns from the strengths of his predecessors, and enriches his own creations a lot, so far Mr. HuFan's green landscapes are beautiful and pleasing to the eye, and he is not modest in the painting world at home and abroad. Master Haisu also recalled a story of Mr. Hu Fan's "two degrees of plumbing".
Mr. Hu Fan's wife Pan Shi, also from a family of official eunuchs, came from a more prominent family, and his grandfather was Suzhou Pan Zuyin of the Official To the Ministry of Works Shangshu Taibao of Suzhou! This worker is good at poetry and painting, and is a great collector of books and gold stones. The famous Lu Ding and Ke Ding two three generations of famous heavy instruments are the Pan family collection. After Mrs. Pan married into the Wu family, her husband sang and sang with her, complementing each other perfectly.
Unexpectedly, Mrs. Pan suffered from "appendicitis", which is supposedly easy to diagnose and cure. However, due to her beautiful background and feudal and conservative ideas, she refused to let the doctor look at her stomach, and as a result, she suffered for three days and died of illness. Later, Mr. Hu Fan was greatly mourned, and he also published a special collection of poems to mourn his beloved wife.
5. The Ming Media is marrying a handmaiden
After Pan's death, Mr. Hufan intended to marry Pan's "handmaiden" Ah Bao, but the daughter-in-law did not agree, so that the relationship was very stiff. Mr. Hu Fan was already in a mess, so he went to Consult With Mr. Liu. When Master Haisu was young, he was good at "Lu Zhonglian" and was good at solving difficulties for people.
He said, "Brother Hu Fan, why don't you get married in public?" Mr. Hu Fan was wandering and quite worried, but he could not resist Mr. Liu's "enlightenment", and finally set up a feast at the Recreation Restaurant and started a marriage event of "Ming Media Marrying". And invited Mr. Zhang Shizhao (who was a well-known barrister at the time) to testify to the marriage.
After the marriage, Master Haisu and his wife were the first to respectfully call them "Mrs. Wu" in public, and Ah Bao was of course very happy. Since then, this Mrs. Ah Bao has been "justified" as Mrs. Wu. When Mr. Liu recalls this, he said with emotion: Behind this "anecdote", in fact, it also shows a problem, the influence of Chinese feudal thought is so difficult to eliminate!
