Yang Jingyu is a famous anti-Japanese hero in China. He was one of the main founders and leaders of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition Army, leading the Northeast military and civilians to fight a bloody battle between the White Mountains and the Black Water. In the midst of the ice and snow and the lack of ammunition, he fought alone against a large number of Japanese koku. On February 23, 1940, Yang Jingyu was surrounded by enemy regiments and died in the three dense forests of Mengjiang County, Changbai Mountain, at the age of 35.

After Yang Jingyu's death, the brutal Japanese army actually used a knife to cut off his head and took a large number of photos, which were scattered to the place where the Northeast Anti-Japanese Coalition was still insisting on resisting. The Japanese army also used a car to pull Yang Jingyu's head and "paraded the streets to show the public" in places where the anti-coalition activities were frequent. After that, the Japanese army soaked the head in a medicine bottle and sent it to the Kwantung Army Headquarters in Xinjing (present-day Changchun), the capital of puppet Manchukuo at that time, for secret hiding.

After Japan's defeat, Yang Jingyu's head suddenly disappeared at Changchun Medical College. In October 1948, on the eve of the imminent liberation of Changchun City, in order to prevent the destruction of Kuomintang agents, the CCP underground organization launched a secret search and rescue operation in Changchun to rescue Yang Jingyu's head.
At that time, Changchun Medical College was occupied by the Second Brigade of the Nationalist Security Cavalry, and the sentry was lined up and difficult to access. In order to find out the situation inside, the underground workers disguised themselves as peddlers and waited for the opportunity to inquire about the whereabouts of the head. However, this method can only be briefly understood on the periphery, and cannot more clearly explore the real situation inside. After Li Yeguang and Li Guangde, responsible persons of the underground working group of the Liaison Office of the Social Department of the Northeast Bureau of the CPC in Changchun, asked their superiors for instructions, Liu Yaguang, former president of the Japanese pseudo-Yaguang Hospital, was sent to break into the health brigade of the Second Brigade of the Kuomintang Security Cavalry.
Because of his working relationship, Liu Yaguang had contact with the health team. After receiving the order, he often went to the brigade's garrison to help them treat their illness and practice medicine, which was quite popular with the health captain. Seeing that the time was ripe, Liu Yaguang came to visit the health captain with a bunch of gifts, and asked him to help him find an errand in the health team, just when the health team lacked doctors, with the help of the captain, Liu Yaguang became a lieutenant military doctor of the Second Cavalry Brigade of the Kuomintang.
After Liu Yaguang entered the health team, he took advantage of the opportunity to go to the medical school to give the Kuomintang officers and soldiers a round of examinations, and found the whereabouts of Yang Jingyu's head, which was in the medical equipment room of the former Changchun Medical College.
Although the whereabouts of the head were known, how to smuggle it out of the heavily guarded enemy brigade headquarters became a difficult problem facing the underground Party members. Later, after inquiring, an underground worker named Jing Enpu was found, who had paid homage to his brother zhang company commander of the guard company of the Second Cavalry Brigade, but it was another company in charge of the guard brigade headquarters.
Soon, everyone came up with an idea. One day, when He was drinking wine with Commander Zhang through Enpu, he asked Commander Zhang with the help of wine: "The Kuomintang is almost out of the ordinary, and as soon as the communist army enters the city in the future, you will be disarmed and return to your hometown. ”
When Zhang Lianchang heard this, he immediately came to his senses and said, "The idea is good, but where can I get the money?" ”
When Enpu saw that the other party was hooked, he pointed with his hand and said, "I am a doctor at Puji Hospital and know the black market." There are a lot of medical equipment left by the Japanese in your brigade health team, which is very valuable, and if you want to find a way to get it, I will help you sell it. ”

The next day, Commander Zhang found the brigade headquarters office to make a small report, saying that the brigade headquarters's guard company had been stationed for a long time, and some people were familiar with the locals, worried that it might be related to the Communist Party, and suggested changing the defense.
When the brigade commander learned of this, he immediately transferred away from the guard company and sent the guards of the commander of the Zhang Company to connect the guards.
After the change of defense, it is much more convenient to enter and exit the brigade headquarters through Empo. Then, under the deliberate introduction of Commander Zhang, Through Enpu, he "got to know" Deputy Zhao, who was in charge of the key to the warehouse of the brigade headquarters. After a drunken drink, Jing Enpu made an impression of the drunken deputy Zhao's warehouse key and equipped it with a key.
At this point, the only problem of action was the guard in front of the door of the medicine room. This guard was not from the guard company, but was specially sent by the police station to guard these instruments left by the Japanese and Yang Jingyu's head, because Zhang Company Commander could not control him. Liu Yaguang, who had infiltrated the brigade headquarters, consciously came into contact with the policeman named Cao Ruchao and often sent him some small food, and the two gradually became acquainted.
Cao Ruchao saw that Liu Yaguang could often get some food, so he went to ask him for help and rescue his family who had been out of food for two days. After learning of this news, Liu Yaguang immediately reported to the organization. The person in charge immediately decided: "The key to the door has been equipped, and there is also an internal line to enter and exit the brigade headquarters." Tonight to send some food to Cao Ruchao, send him home quickly, we took the opportunity to start. ”
After Enpu found Zhang Company Commander, stuffed him with a sum of money and half a bag of rice, and told him that at midnight someone would come to pull the equipment, and Zhang Company Commander immediately said that he was personally on duty, even if he came outside.
At more than 10 o'clock in the evening, Jing Enpu carried a few pounds of sorghum rice, knocked on Cao Ruchao's duty room, and told him: "I heard that your family has run out of grain, and there is still some sorghum rice left in my house, so you can take it." At that time, the grain was all managed by the Kuomintang army, and once it was discovered, it was confiscated, and when Cao Ruchao saw the grain, he did not ask where it came from, and did not even have time to say thank you, and ran home with the rice on his back.
Soon, several underground workers appeared at the entrance of the brigade department, and Zhang Company Commander let him go as soon as he saw Enpu. Everyone pushed the car straight to the equipment room, carried the potion bottle containing the heads of Yang Jingyu and Chen Hanzhang to the car, took a few valuable equipment by the way, and moved to a safe place overnight.
On December 20, 1948, the heads of Yang Jingyu and Chen Hanzhang were secretly sent to Harbin and placed in the newly built Northeast Martyrs Memorial Hall.
On September 25, 1957, Yang Jingyu's head and body were buried in the "Yang Jingyu Martyrs Cemetery" in Tonghua City. After that, monuments and memorial halls were built in Yang Jingyu's sacrificial site and hometown for the people to pay respects to.
