"The Song of Goshu" The Big Dipper is seven stars high, and Goshu carries a knife at night. So far, peeping at the horses, I dare not cross Lintao.
This is not a poem, but a folk song of the Northwest Territories, the author of the West Contempt, at that time the people of the Northwest Frontier were called the West Contempt, so this may not be a specific personal name, just a reference, who knows.
The poem title "Geshu Song", a song written for a person named Geshu, Geshu is the Anxi Jiedu envoy Geshuhan, this old brother is very brave and good at war, the Tubo people come every day to make trouble, the imperial court has no way, at this time Geshuhan stood up and annihilated the main force of the Tubo people in the stone castle, do you think it is over to drive away the enemy? That's what the reckless man did. After Geshuhan occupied the stone castle, he quickly built fortifications, and soon it became a defense fortress for the Tang Dynasty.
You see, what is brave and resourceful!
From then on, although the Tubo people still had the ambition of invading the Central Plains, they could only shout in vain, they were really scared by Ge Shuhan, and they did not dare to start a war at all.
Therefore, the people of the northwest made up this song to praise his merits.
The first sentence "Big Dipper seven stars high", there is a Big Dipper in the sky, the ancients walked the night road, relying on the Big Dipper to identify the direction, so as not to get lost, there is "Geshu night with a knife" on the ground, General Geshu town guard here, day and night with a knife on guard, so that the people can sit back and relax.
The use of the Big Dipper to start a rise, but also used as a metaphor for the Geshu Song, this is called Bier Xingye.
Then it is said that "so far, peeping at the horses, I dare not cross Lintao", since General Goshu came here, the Tubo people no longer dare to come to Lintao to herd horses. I was really knocked out of the psychological shadow, and I was scared to hear Ge Shu's song.
There is also a very interesting place in these two poems, first of all, he obviously used the Western Han Jiayi's "On Passing the Qin": "The Hu people do not dare to go south and herd horses", and later Du Fu said that "the dogs fled far away, and the horses did not dare to invade Lintao", which obviously used these two poems again.
