Not long ago, when I went south to interview, I took the road back to my hometown in Henan, and my hometown, which had been away for a long time, made me fascinated, in the distance, on the endless fields, the industrious and kind fathers and villagers were working in the fields, they carefully dressed up a beautiful home full of hope, came to the village and looked at the two teaching buildings quietly standing in the school, parking and the front campus seemed to be surprisingly quiet, I wondered in my heart, is it the children are napping?

In a special feeling for the school, I got out of the car to inquire, and faced several elderly people with a frustrated face and said: "The school is almost out of students, and the teaching building behind it has long been converted into a nursing home." After listening, I suddenly felt confused, I couldn't believe my ears, and anxiously detoured through the school gate to find out. If it is true, the teaching building has long been empty, and the model school that once had nearly a thousand teachers and students is now empty, witnessing such a miserable and sad scene, I can't help but be sad, and I can't help but feel a little pessimistic and disappointed in my heart.

In the past, it was once a well-known large school with more than ten double classes in primary and secondary schools, under the leadership of principal Zhang Yunchao, teachers and students were sincerely united and worked together, and the school's teaching performance was once among the best in the city, county and township.

In 1998, when I returned home in the late autumn, a scene that was so tragic that people could not tolerate it was deeply imprinted in my memory, and I still can't let go. At that time, the children of several classes in the first and second grades, led by Teachers Such as Liang Xiumei and Xing Zhonghua, accompanied by the autumn breeze, curled up under the tree next to the cemetery to read and write. The children froze, and the few remaining leaves of the trees were from time to time abandoned in the wilderness by a cold wind, and then a dust came, rolling up the frost leaves on the ground and making a helpless cry, and then being swept up by a whirlwind and driven to the side of the road.

Feeling pity for the teachers and students, I went to ask the reasons carefully, and several teachers came over and whispered: "In order to cater to the inspection of the 'enrichment project' of the superiors, the former village cadres openly ripped off several classrooms and built pig pens, despite the strong opposition of the teachers, students and villagers, which caused the students of several classes to lose their classrooms, and the teacher had no choice but to lead the students to wander around to borrow private houses to attend classes..." Upon learning the situation, I couldn't help but ask in my heart, is there really someone in the world who has done such a stupid thing that violates his conscience? Randomly, I personally visited the then village cadres Zhang Xiangchao and Zhang Chuanxing, and strongly recommended that the village committee "no matter how poor you are, you can't be poor in school, and you can't be bitter about children." Therefore, it was decided to raise funds to run schools, and it is imperative to improve the current situation of teaching. And work hard to write a letter of proposal "for children" in the "Kaifeng Daily", after the article was published, it immediately caused a strong response from readers and positive responses from people from all walks of life, the villagers' emotions were very high, and everyone donated money and materials to support. Retired worker Zhang Yutang heard that he was going to build a school, and sent the wood that was going to build a marriage house for his son directly to the construction site, and the five insurance households Zhang Shu listened to the news and pulled his only few pieces of wood to the school to show his meager strength, the old cadre Zhang Xiangzhi learned of the situation, and specially rushed to send 500 yuan in cash, he said excitedly: "Ten years of trees and a hundred years of tree people, the healthy development of the school is the only hope of the villagers, I am willing to contribute to the construction of the school." In this way, everyone collected firewood and the flame was high, and several brand-new classrooms were completed after half a year's effort, and then the crisp and pleasant reading sound of children was heard on the campus, and when they entered the new classroom, teachers and students were happy and happy. In order to highlight the meritorious people who donated funds to fund education and benefit future generations, the village branch decided to erect a monument to pass on the tree, and at the invitation of the village chief Zhang Chuanxing, I gladly ordered a pen and specially wrote an inscription to remember it:

Our village is located in the border areas of Qi (County) and Tai (Kang), but the people are brilliant, known for respecting teachers and re-teaching, but the village committee is economically weak, and the school building is in short supply, students have no place to study and outside the school, the martyrdom of the people's livelihood is indeed a pity, Baiyexing education is the foundation, the village branch has foresight, the current situation of reform has revitalized education, the current village cadres have taken the lead in setting an example, the township party committee and government have done their best to support, for a while, the people's feelings are intense, they have given their full support, and when it is the hot summer, the party and the masses of teachers have exerted their blood and sweat to dedicate themselves, and they have donated money to fund the education of Mingzhi to benefit future generations to show that it is carried forward.

Later, the villagers donated money to fund the education of the righteous move of the entrepreneur Xie Kangxing, Mr. Xie Kangxing, who has always been keen on public welfare undertakings, came to the school to investigate, and when he witnessed the dilapidated situation of the school building in the middle school department, he immediately decided to raise more than one million yuan to build a teaching building to let the children study with peace of mind. Soon, Chairman Xie Kangxing raised a donation to build a road for the village, which completely solved the travel difficulties of villagers and students.

After the completion of the teaching building, the teachers and students were also doubly grateful, the teachers taught and educated people diligently and dedicatedly, and the students worked hard to become talents. For a time, the school has trained nearly 20 master's and doctoral graduates and more than 100 university graduates, such as Xie Zunhua, Zhang Yanmin, Zhang Tikun, Zhang Yanwei, Zhang Yanbin, Zhang Yanling, Zhang Xiaolei, Zhang Wenyu, Zhang Hongzhen, Zhang Di, Hou Shuai, Hou Yawei, Hou Yading, Hou Linlin, etc. After jumping into the dragon gate, the students with the title of the gold list also felt extremely honored and proud of the hard work of the teachers of their alma mater, and the school once again glorified the party in the education circle of eastern Henan and became a well-known famous school.

Today, however, the campus is languishing. The reason is that the villagers who know about it said disappointedly: "They all blame the serious lack of school management in recent years!" In addition to some children going to the city to study, another part of the students transferred to other schools, some students were forced to flow to the society due to family difficulties, the serious loss of students led to the loss of vitality of the school, at present, there are less than dozens of children in large schools with two teaching buildings.

For all kinds of reasons, for various reasons, those phenomena that are not lacking in man-made are indeed worth pondering! Leaving the cold and quiet campus, the parents of several students outside the school confidently told the author: "The school has just transferred a young female principal Zhang Zhaoli, who is rich and responsible, and she is full of confidence and decides to regroup and revitalize Xiaozhai School." ”

Nowadays, some rural schools are in a state of closure and semi-closure, and this phenomenon is becoming more and more serious. Whoops, whoops! In addition to sighing, I couldn't help but shout: Who will save these rural schools? Save the children and save the souls of the rural education front. ”

Looking back, the bright five-star red flag on the campus is still flying high, at this time, I seem to have a new hope in my heart, here, I sincerely wish Xiaozhai School to rise again and go to glory! Looking forward to the early arrival of spring on campus!!
