Up the stone steps, on the platform at the end of the cemetery, the first thing that comes into sight is the monument to the martyrs of the Red Army with majestic and unique shapes. On the small hillside to the north of the monument is the "Tomb of Deng Ping Martyr". Deng Ping's remains were found in the summer of 1957 under the personal care of peng Dehuai, then minister of national defense and commander of the Red Third Army during the Long March, and through investigation and study by the party, government, military, people, and people from all walks of life in the old city of Gantianba. Construction of Deng Ping's tomb began in 1958 and was completed early the following year. The cemetery is located in the middle of the cemetery platform and consists of the main burial chamber, the left and right side chambers and stone carved wreaths. The tomb body is buckled with red sand and stone materials, with a width of 32.55 meters, the main burial chamber is higher than the side chamber, showing a "convex" shape, and a red five-pointed star is erected in the middle of the tomb roof. In 1959, a burial ceremony was held during the Qingming Dynasty, and the coffin containing Deng Ping's remains was placed in the main burial chamber. In 1984, in order to build the "Monument to the Martyrs of the Red Army", Deng Ping's tomb was moved to the north of the monument.

In October 1979, Zhang Aiping, the political commissar of the Red Eleventh Regiment, who was in the forward position with Deng Ping and inspected the offensive line, wrote an epitaph for Deng Ping: Comrade Deng Ping, a native of Fushun, Sichuan, joined the Communist Party of China during the First Great Revolution and was an early graduate of the Huangpu Military Academy. The defeat of the Great Revolution in 1927, together with Comrade Huang Gongluo, was sent to the first regiment of the first division of the Thirty-fifth Army of the Kuomintang to do military movement work, the first regiment of the army was reorganized into the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army in the Pingjiang Uprising in 1928 under the leadership of Comrade Peng Dehuai, Comrade Deng Ping successively served as chief of staff of the Fifth Red Army, principal of the school accompanying the battalion of the Red Third Army, commander of the Red Fifth Army, chief of staff of the Red Third Army, etc. In February 1935, the Red Army made a glorious sacrifice in the battle of the second capture of Zunyi City, Comrade Deng Ping was loyal to the people's revolutionary cause and the party, and struggled hard. In October 1934, Deng Ping participated in the Long March, assisted Peng Dehuai in commanding the Red 3rd Army to serve as the right guard, continuously broke through the 4 blockade lines of the Kuomintang army, and covered the breakthrough of the main force of the Central Red Army, the central organs of the CPC Central Committee and the organs of the Central Revolutionary Military Commission. After the Zunyi Conference, under the correct command of Mao Zedong, Deng Ping and Peng Dehuai commanded the Red 3rd Army to run across the northern and southern Sichuan regions, cross the Chishui River twice, fiercely fight at Loushan Pass, and directly approach The city of Zunyi. On February 27, 1935, Deng Ping was hit in the head by a bullet while commanding troops to attack the old city of Zunyi, and died heroically at the age of 27.

When the news of Deng Ping's unfortunate death reached the regimental headquarters, Peng Dehuai was very sad, and he issued a siege order to the troops with tears: "Take Zunyi City and avenge the chief of staff." After the Red Army captured Zunyi City, Zhang Aiping, political commissar of the Red 11th Regiment, wrote an elegy with a stroke of his pen: "When is the long night sinking?" Huangpu learns martial arts to seek classics. The Northern Expedition was attacked by thieves, and the Pingjiang Uprising helped the flames. The 'encirclement and suppression' smashed the hard work, and the Long March turned to the heavy burden of battle. Zunyi City spilled blood, and the three armies cried strange men on the way. ”

Nowadays, Deng Ping's cemetery is surrounded by pines and cypresses, the Phoenix Mountain behind the tomb is green, and the Xiangjiang River in front of the tomb flows for a long time.
