In our impression, as long as it is a tropical fish, especially a small tropical fish, most of them like weak acidic water quality, and the vast majority of the egg-born medaka prefer weak alkaline water quality, and they, like other medaka, do not like the water temperature is too high, these two points we must pay attention to.
In addition, the oviparous medaka does not like new water, and the appropriate old green water is more beneficial to their growth, which has many similarities with goldfish that also like weak alkaline water quality, but we must also keep the water quality clean and not let the water quality deteriorate.
1. Arrowtail fish
With the red swordfish led by the arrowtail fish, its native species is the Koch's arrowtail, native to Mexico, with the continuous improvement of the swordtail fish, such as red arrows, high-fin red arrows, chrysanthemum sail red arrows, black tail red arrows, apple swords, Mandarin duck swords, neon swords, swallowtail red arrows and other varieties emerge in an endless stream, but most of the market is still dominated by ordinary red swordfish, and even good quality swallowtail red arrows have been rare.
These species are all soup change, do not change the medicine, are belonging to the big family of swordtails, but in the body color of the continuous hybrid variation, but they all have some characteristics of the swordtail, such as female fish can become male fish, like weak alkaline water quality, the most prone to cotton mouth disease and shaking head and other symptoms.
Among them, the difficulty of raising ordinary varieties can be smaller, the more high-grade the breed, the more delicate the feeding, the more difficult it is to breed, and the individual is larger and the color is more colorful.
Second, moonlight fish
Moonfish, like the swordtail fish, are native to Mexico and other places, they can be crossed with some small swordtails, common species include red moonlight fish, high-fin moonlight fish, sailfin moonlight fish, dress moonlight fish, Mickey Mouse moonlight fish, blacktail moonlight fish and peony moonlight fish.
Most of the moonlight fish is smaller than the swordtail fish, most of the body length is 4-6 cm, the temperament is mild and lively and cute, can be mixed with other oviparous medaka fish, due to excessive hybridization, a wide variety, if subdivided, there are also dozens or hundreds of species.
Three, Mary fish
Mary fish is also a small oviparous medaka living in Mexico, but compared to other small medaka, they prefer hard water, and more resistant to low temperatures, if they are properly salted in the fish tank where they are raised, they will live better, they are like the red swordfish, have the habit of nibbling on the walls of the tank and moss, so they are more likely to suffer from cotton mouth disease.
The earliest Mary fish is known as the black Mary, slender, petite and cute, and then there was a swallowtail Mary, and then a variety of gold Mary, silver Mary, leather ball Mary all came out through hybridization, with the increasing number of varieties, the phenomenon of hybridization is becoming more and more serious.
Originally, they could give birth to a litter of small fish in less than 40 days, but now everything is fixed, even if the mother fish is taken to the hospital to listen to fetal heart sounds, it does not work, everyone can only play on it.
Fourth, other oviparous medaka
In addition to peacock fish and the above species, there is another kind called pointed-billed flounder, which is also the largest oviparous raw medaka, native to central America, with a body length of up to 15 cm, a fierce personality, can be fed by small fish, and they can also directly give birth to small fish.
There is also a kind of called Ai's echia, is a more precious oviparous medaka, body length of about 7 cm, is also produced in Mexico, it is said that the juvenile fish is through the mother fish body umbilical cord to obtain nutrition, about every two months to produce small fish, this is just heard, fish farming old way has indeed not seen.
