Written and directed by Gekidan Hitori, a member of the troupe, and starring Yoshi Yô Ôizumi Ozumi and Yumi Yanagi, Takeshi Kitano's biopic Asakusa Kid (Asakusa Kid) will be released on Netflix on December 9.
The film is based on Takeshi Kitano's autobiography of the same name and is set in Asakusa, Tokyo in the Showa 1940s.
It tells the story of Kitano's youth from Chisaburo Fukami, as well as Shinyuki Tsuchiya, Murphy Mai, and Nanami Suzuki.
Yumi Yanagi as Takeshi Kitano, Hiroshi Ozumi as Master Chisaburo Fukami, Hosumi Suzuki as Masaru, The Wife of Master Fukami, Mari, Motowaki mai as Chiharu, a dancer who targets singers, and Shinyuki Tsuchiya as Takeshi Kitano's cross-talk partner.
