Soil fertilizer water management of jujube in Taiwan

1. Fertilization

Taiwan jujube grows fast, the amount of flowers and fruits is large, and it must have higher fertility and water conditions to obtain high-quality and high-yield fruits. After the newly colonized seedlings grow their first new shoots, they are drenched once every 7 to 10 days with 0.2%-0.3% urea water fertilizer, that is, 0.2 to 0.3 kg of urea per 100 kg of water, 3 to 4 times of continuous topdressing, and then every 40 to 50 days of compound fertilizer, each time fertilizing 0.2 to 0.3 kg per tree. From mid-to-late October to early November, each tree is fertilized with 1 to 1.5 kg of rotten bran cake fertilizer to improve the sweetness of the fruit.

After 2 years of planting land in Taiwan, it is necessary to increase the amount of fertilizer used, in the first and middle of April, each plant is applied 30~40kg, compound fertilizer and phosphate fertilizer are 0.5kg, and the depth is about 40cm to fertilize the furrow; the compound fertilizer is applied 0.5~1.0kg per plant in the flowering period in July; and the compound fertilizer is applied 0.5~0.6kg per plant in mid-November. In addition to the above three soil fertilizations, in late August to late October, 3 to 4 foliar topdressing must also be carried out to supplement the large need for boron and magnesium for fruit tree growth, with 0.2% borax, 0.2% zinc sulfate, 0.5% magnesium sulfate mixed aqueous solution to the canopy spray, every 100kg of water to add borax 0.2kg, zinc sulfate 0.2kg, magnesium sulfate 0.5kg, to promote the development of fruit and fruit, reduce the occurrence of fruit deficiency.

2. Moisture management

Taiwan jujube flowers into the fruit growth and development period, the need for water is particularly large, when the fruit grows to about 1cm in diameter until the fruit is about to ripen, the fruit tree should be supplied with sufficient water to meet the needs of fruit growth for water, in order to avoid excessive humidity in the greenhouse, it is best to cover the ground with mulching after drip irrigation. When the fruit enters the ripening stage, the water control of the fruit tree is begun to promote the accumulation of sugar in the fruit and improve the sweetness of the fruit.

3. Soil management

The ground of the fruit tree disc should be kept without grass, combined with fertilization every year, and the ground under the tree should be loosened 1 to 2 times to promote good root growth.
