The county commander Yuan Yi had given Shantao a hundred pounds of silk, and Shantao knew that Yuan Yi would definitely not pay bribes to him alone, but immediately reporting it would offend a large number of officials, so he accepted it for the time being. Later, Yuan Yi was convicted and confessed to all the bribery, and Shantao handed over the hundred pounds of silk, which was covered with dust and sealed as before. It can be seen that while he is clean and self-righteous, he also has profound official wisdom, and he can also save himself while realizing his ideals, and he is a figure of wisdom and courage.
The second is to think that Ji Kang really despises Shantao, so he breaks off friendship with him. Shan Tao recommended Ji Kang to go out of the mountain as an official, but he was a deep iron lover, felt that the official field was much more dangerous than the fire, and was reluctant to go. If you don't go, you don't go, and you write a letter, yin and yang weirdly, and seem to be extremely disdainful of Shantao. Now I seem to understand: the letter of renunciation was not written for Shantao to see, but for the people of the world and the imperial court. He knew that as Cao's son-in-law, his identity was very sensitive, and every word and deed could be magnified by Sima Shi. Only by drawing a clear line with Shantao can Shantao be spared when the imperial court surrenders to himself. Later, he was indeed killed, and before he died, he told his son: If there is something wrong, go to Uncle Shantao. Shan Tao did recommend his son Ji Shao as an official. I've always felt that these two people are a bit fine, but in fact, they don't understand the way smart people communicate.
