However, later, Zhong Hui (the grandson of the great calligrapher Zhong Xuan) secretly participated in Ji Kang's book, saying that his influence among the Tai students was too great, and he was suspected of misleading the public, which was not conducive to the stability of the Western Jin Dynasty regime that had just been established not long ago, and Ji Kang was imprisoned. Ji Kang's arrest was originally a crime of harming the society, but on the day of his execution, three thousand Tai students gathered together to demand Ji Kang's release, and also asked Ji Kang to teach at Taixue. However, just before Ji Kang was dying, in addition to playing the ancient song Guangling San, he also said a word to his son, as long as there is a mountain Tao, even if your father and I die, you are not an orphan! This is considered a public orphan!

Later, Ji Shao was recommended by ShanTao as a secretary, because the age of the Western Jin Dynasty could be very low, so Shantao was just like Emperor Wu of Jin pleading for Ji Shao's official position shortly after Ji Kang's death, so he did not shy away from suspicion, and even in the case of Ji Kang being beheaded by the tai student, he dared to stand up and plead, how could such an act be ruthless to Ji Kang?
The Book of Jin records his words: "Kang Xuan" has a saying: "Father and son sin are not compatible. 'Ji Shaoxian is lacking, it is advisable to add jingjing, please be the secretary Lang. Then Ji Shao was appointed secretary Lang. Or, in another case, many years after Ji Kang's death, Shan Tao asked for a seal for him at Ji Shao's normal age of entry, which was also very touching. The reason why Ji Kang wrote the Book of Renunciation with Shan Juyuan
People think that the reason for their friendship collapse is because Ji Kang wrote the "Letter of Renunciation with Shan Juyuan" written in black and white, but the purpose of Ji Kang's writing this book is not to break off friends, but to protect his friends.
