With the heure d'ici & heure d'ailleurs, Saga interprets the understated and poetic travel scene. The time between the two places is presented simultaneously on the dial, inviting the wearer to travel in all directions. The time display windows in the two places are located at each end of the minute hand, one end showing the time at this moment, and the other pointing to another city full of memories on the other side of the earth. The dial design blends precision watchmaking with beautiful calligraphic fonts, while commemorating each real and imaginary journey. Today, van cleef & arpels continues to follow the yearning for exotic cultures, while adhering to the timeless aesthetic features of the pierre arpels Pierre Yapel collection: the most simple lines, the central lug decoration fused with the slim case, and the beehive pattern in the center of the dial, which is more reminiscent of the front placket of the dress shirt and the van cleef & arpels brand mark. The newly designed watch also shows many of the classics of the century-old family, such as the irregular designs commonly used by van cleef & arpels in jewelry creation, and the calligraphic names engraved on the watch to pay homage to poetic characters. The equally elegant and charming crown winds and adjusts the minute hand and two time zones for the movement at the same time, while a single diamond at the top illuminates the elegant arc of the case border.
Pierre Arpels Pierre Yapels is the first to welcome a dual-time zone complication watch, echoing van Cleef & Arpels van Cleef & Arpels' poet of time™. Its exclusive self-winding calibre, developed by van cleef & arpels in collaboration with agehor (atelier genevois d'horlogerie), is equipped with double-jump and counter-jump minute hands. Hours are displayed in a display window at the top of the dial, while another window at the bottom indicates the hours in the second time zone, driven by synchronous elements connected to the two-hour disc and the counter-jumping minutecle, resulting in a completely synchronized runout. When the counter-jumping minutecle reaches 60 minutes, the marker position is flown back to the starting point, and the hour displayed on the watch jumps accordingly. In order to keep the case thin and to highlight the classic features of the pierre arpels Pierre Yapel collection, this automatic movement is equipped with a miniature balance wheel in platinum and occupies very little space. The balance wheel generates power through reciprocating oscillation and drives the movement. The sapphire crystal mirror-through delicate movement, the spiral van cleef & arpels classic bridge plate, and the blue lacquered balance that echo the beehive texture of the dial, are perfectly reflected under the crystal mirror.
