Maverick Whisky Pioneers pioneered the "Star Chart" philosophy

Founded in 1881, Buhrade's ancient winery is located on the island of Ere, southwest of the Hebrides, one of the four major production areas of Scotch whisky and a legendary wine country known for its single malt whisky production. As the only Scotch whisky distillery distilled, aged and bottled on the island, Château Buhrades released the first Islay pure wheat single malt whisky in 2010, a first in the history of whisky. Today, Château Buhradi works with 10 farms on the island to use all-natural organic barley, the purest natural spring water in the region, and no coloring or artificial additives to be added to the production process. At the same time, in the brewing process, refuse to use industrial production like other whisky distilleries, refuse to use the commercially used condensation filtration and caramel coloring and seasoning process, refuse to lower the standard for the pursuit of efficiency, adhere to the use of traditional distillation brewing process, and still retain the Victorian era to build wine-making equipment, I believe that this way of experiencing time precipitation and hand-crafting can be exchanged for the perfect quality of whisky.

In addition to preserving the customs and customs of Islay as much as possible, Buhradi has also been exploring the unique art of whisky making with a pioneering spirit. The craftsmen of Buhradi never stick to the standard process or vintage of brewing, nor do they want to deliberately age the wine to pursue an overly harmonious taste, they believe in the unique feeling of the wine rather than the vintage of the wine, and dare to challenge the convention. The exquisite balance of distillation and aging brings an incredible pure taste, which is the perfection sought by the craftsmen, who use their craftsmanship, ideals, beliefs and soul to create the whisky philosophy belonging to Buhradi.

The mysterious Buhradi Star Chart 1992 Limited Edition No. 5.1

Black Art is a new whisky collection first conceived by former Chief Brewer Jim Mcewan. "Black art" stands for "art of darkness", and the origin of the name dates back to ancient alchemy in the Middle Ages. Since the birth of the first star map, Jim Mcewan has never revealed the details of its formulation to anyone, which makes the series full of endless magic. This is Buhradi's most special collection, each bottle carefully selected and the barrels used are derived from the distillery's most valuable collections. The barrel that bears the star chart is regarded as the heart, soul and most basic DNA of the whisky series. The birth of the star map is the result of countless dialogues between the winemaker and the barrel. Barrels must be taken care of, and the creation of the Star Chart series is a secret that can never be revealed. Only a master brewer who personally creates a star map can trace the magical journey of his brewing in his mind. The bottle packaging of the series is equally unfathomable, with the liquor placed in an all-black bottle covered with symbolic figures, hieroglyphs and the esoteric Latin phrase "omnia ab una", in which the "six-pointed star" is the symbol of alchemy. Like the birth of every great work of art, the advent of every star map is Buhradi's sincere tribute to the single malt Scotch whisky making process.

Previous generations of star maps have continued the mysterious nature, and those who have tasted the star charts have been impressed by them. In 2015, StarMap Edition 4 was voted The Best Single Malt Whisky of the Year and Best Single Malt Whisky of Isle of Ere (International Whisky Competition). In the same year, Jim Mcewan passed on the recipe of the 5th edition of Star Map to Adam Hannett, completing his mission as chief winemaking ambassador in Buhradi. Guided by the brand's "maverick" spirit, the current chief brewer Adam Hannett has created his own star map 5th edition with years of whisky brewing intuition. Its strong comeback has reignited the curiosity of whisky lovers around the world to explore this mysterious wine.
